G.Skill Sniper DDR3 Gaming Memory Series totes a unique gun styled heatspreader that complements the enthusiasm and style PC gaming enthusiasts who love to have their PC look as great as they play. The Sniper DDR3 Gaming Series will be available via G.Skill authorized distribution partners worldwide in early March.

Extreme Performance Needs Are Always Our Priority!
In order to continuously satisfy extreme overclockers and PC enthusiasts thirst for the highest performance memory available, G.Skill has showcased the ultimate DDR3 memory kits: 2,300MHz CL7 and 2,133MHz CL6! These two will join the popular G.Skill RipjawsX family and allow overclocking enthusiasts to reach the absolute most performance out of their Intel P67 platforms.

G.Skill Phoenix II - SandForce Quality, SATA 6Gbps performance.
G.Skill announces that its Phoenix II will use the latest SandForce SF-2000 Series controller and the latest Micron 25nm NAND flash. Under the latest SATA 6Gbps high-speed storage standard, the G.Skill Phoenix II SSD delivers never before seen sequential read/write speed at 550/500 MB/s*. Are there any specs on the G.SKILL Sniper memory?
I wonder if they're actually going to have a benefit over Ripjaws, or just the fancy design...

Those pictures are there for a reason....

Actually they are 7-10-10-28, but is irrelevant, since at that speed blows all the charts anyways. ;)

Also the CR is 1T, so I'm guessing those are kinda the fastest you can find on the market.

I purchased some of the last generation snipers because they have a lower profile heat spreader than the ripjaws. Also the black PCB with blue heat spreader really matches my motherboard :D

If you focused less on the pictures, you may have noted there is a CL6 kit.

Easily, g.skill already sells better kits than these. This stuff is second rate compared to the F3-17000CL8D and F3-17000CL7D kits. And good luck finding a golden chip and board that will support CL6 at 2133.

heh :toast:

Although, considering the price range of G.Skill I think they are permitted to sell cheaper chips with as much they can tweak them up. I think even while G.Skill products tend to to further their attempt is 10 times more than most.

I dunno about Sandybridge just yet, but both my 1156 chips on asus boards have no problem with CL6. A few boards will corrupt your OS, but my cpus are retail, so there must be others that can do it as well.

Only 178mhz bclk is required for 2133 on i7 chips. 2133 is selectable divider on Sandbridge, too.

So, I think it's more BIOS dependant rather than having anything to do with silicon.
