These will probably be the first iteration to really pull ahead of air coolers, but I'm left wondering why bother. My H70 and many coolers aren't challenged by 1155 procs, and 2011 is going to be a die shrink so it might run even cooler. Paying over $100 for no increase in overclocking headroom seems like a waste when you'd be just as well off spending half that.

Still not good enough! I want a 560mm rad with a high-power tec in an all-in-one!I'm just glad to see that closed loop ready-to-install water cooled systems are now also featuring 240mm grills. With so many cases supporting that size I was sure we'd see 'em sooner or later!

Inevitably? You gonna pay for mine? I'm still on socket 775, buddy, and I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon.? We're talking about an unreleased product. All other platforms are being phased out. You will inevitably be on 1155 or 2011 which will run remarkably cool. AM3+ probably will fall in line as well. Extreme cooling just isn't relevant this gen. Going to a crazy WC setup might get you what, from 53x to 56x? Neither sustainable for 24/7 anyways. Even locked at 4.5 Ghz I idle at 30-38c. This kind of stuff just isn't needed anymore.

I'm not, I was just pointing it outSo why would you spend $150 on extreme cooling instead of putting it toward an upgrade?

It's not so much in gaining an OC headroom but having it cool at very high clocks. Plus these usually take up less space on CPU socket alone which might be better for some (for my system if i coudl fit the radiator on the grill...).
So why would you spend $150 on extreme cooling instead of putting it toward an upgrade?
