Enermax announced two new high power PSUs that are compliant with the 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating, under the MaxRevo series. It includes 1350W and 1500W models. The two are designed for gaming PCs with four graphics cards, a ton of hard drives, and possibly even a dual-socket workstation. The MaxRevo PSUs use Copper-Bridge Array transmission technology that is claimed to deliver a 'cleaner' DC output. The 12V circuit is spread across six rails, and is backed by eight kinds of protection circuitry.

The PSU makes use of high magnetic power density transformer, 105°C Japanese electrolytic capacitors, and is cooled by a 139 mm twister-bearing fan that spins between 900 and 2000 RPM. The receptacle features CordGuard, which firmly secures the AC cord, while the fan-controller features HeatGuard, a feature that keeps the fan spinning even after system shutdown, to cool components down. The MaxRevo 1350W is priced at €344.90, and the MaxRevo 1500W goes for €379.90.

I've got to say, I used to be a huge fan of Enermax, but it seems like they're going with some pretty odd decisions. Single +12V rail is highly favored by high-end GPU users now, and the gaudy gold trim on all their products makes me want to puke.

Sorry but even at 1500W the price is a fail IMO. €250 to €275 max would make more sense given the competition. It will be interesting to see that the street prices are actually like.

I never really understood why people cared about the color of the PSU, I mean if you care about your computer, then you probably will be getting a zoned case, and the window on said case will always cut-off at the bottom bay and you will never see it.

As far as price is concerned, remember that enermax is their own oem, and dont sell to anyone (yes yes i know that german off shoot Lacie, but that is an enermax company anyways) think of the quality you are getting at that price because they margin so well on sales.

Lastly, yea I have always preferred single 12v rails, but when you have over 900w, the rails ( i believe these are 4) each have enough power to run a most graphics cards, this is a great way to reduce noise. These things are clean as #$@% on the ripple.

Not a enermax fanboi, just a fan of fine products, PCP&P were my favorite PSUs before OCZ bought them.

That's not a case, that's a test bench. Try again. Anyhow, I'd imagine most people with windowed cases where a PSU needs to match a specific color is probably of the younger crowd. I'm 26 and I no longer care about seeing all the internals of my PC. I'm more wanting of clean lines and a simple look like that of Lian-Li but those things cost way too much.

You're not part of the "younger crowd," yet you reply to my post immaturely...

I want my computer to look clean, which is why I don't want giant gold logos on my PSU. From your post, you care about aesthetics, too, and I don't see why you're trying to disagree with me when I feel like our wishes are similar.

probably of the younger crowd. I'm 26

I guess that way back when I was 26, I thought I was no longer part of the younger crowd too!

Personally I care what the internal components of my system look like even if I don't see them constantly. And like Cube said "I don't wear too much gold because it's tacky, I bust a Raider hat T-Shirt and Khakis".

But for no good reason. Single rail isn't any better than a properly designed multi-rail psu (and trust me when I say, Enermax has thus far, properly designed their multi-rail psus.) http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3990.

As for color, I just don't care. All I care about is performance. It could be hot pink for all I care.

I really want to upgrade to one of these Max Revos, mostly because they are fully modular, and that would make custom length cables super easy. And here I thought I wouldn't want to upgrade my 1250w Enermax for at least a few years. I should've known better. lol.

That's why I said they're favored. The general consensus of users is that single rail is always better than multi-rail, regardless of the falsity of the statement.

I just don't see how that makes it an odd decision on Enermax's part.

Being younger or older doesn't make someone mature or immature, I'm not sure how much exposure you've had with people but a lot of them are very immature, even more so on the internet and age doesn't have all that much to do with it or so it seems. You are correct about my care for aesthetics, I wish I didn't have to see any lights or internals of my PC but I'm too cheap and strapped for funds to buy a new case at the moment. Lastly I don't think I disagreed with you, you posted a link of your "case" and I said it was a bench. I didn't exactly say that I liked the gold logos but if I were to build a new system I wouldn't be able to see the logos or how ugly my noctua fans are to worry about it.

Well, it's usually younger kids/"gamers" that like the windowed, see every poorly managed wire, L.E.D. blasting cases. I was one of them until I was like 21, then I wanted something that attracted less attention. However, if I'm not going to see the components I don't care what they look like as long as they perform great. I just realized you were quoting Ice Cube, I was thinking to myself that I had no clue.

I just don't see how that makes it an odd decision on Enermax's part.

It doesn't but people will stray from this product just for that reason since there's misinformation scaring them away.

These are 1% away from Platinum Certification as well, 94% on the Gold Standard. Nice bit of new building tech thrown in too. Just seen an ad for this in my new MaxPC and also saw it when searching for PSUs on the net. I would love to have one of these (the lesser wattage ones) because my first PSU was an Enermax and that damn thing was the shit. Love some Enermax. Maybe a bit high on price but the guts make it worth it.

Enermax has really high quality PSUs
It has been doing this for some time now. Only price cuts some pple out.
and when you pass 1000W you should demand for multi rail on 12V for your own good.
single rail is more of cost cutting if you ask me.
Lets wait for a proper review to see if this knocks Antec off the throne.
