AMD Trinity APU-powered Notebook Shown Running Deux Ex: Human Revolution

AMD showed off a notebook powered by its next-generation "Trinity" A-Series accelerated processing unit (APU). Trinity makes use of the Piledriver x86-64 micro-architecture (a more evolved version of Bulldozer), packs two Piledriver modules (four cores), and a faster DirectX 11 compliant Radeon graphics component. AMD displayed a Trinity-powered notebook running Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Trinity will be built on the 32 nm process, and will make use of the new socket FM2 platform. There's no word so far pointing that FM2 will be incompatible with FM1.

It's pretty glaringly obvious both Intel and AMD are ramping up the publicity now. It's starting to look more and more like the ATI Nvidia wars where one company is close to release and the other starts saying, yeah but look what we got coming just after.

It's getting tedious and counter productive. I know I'll probably skip 2011 and just get an IvyBridge next year. If I were on AMD, I'd probably be asking, when's PD out cos I might just skip BD.

Seriously, this is getting ridiculous, BD is coming and there is no point in asking when will it arrive.
The release date is under NDA and the NDA is under NDA, no one but AMD knows the release date and we knew this for years, so everyone please quit asking when will it come because no one can tell you.

I think it's good to show off some Trinity as well, it means they have it functioning. Piledriver here we come!

And patience is not a virtue, it's simply procrastinations apathetic big brother.

I could say, Fools Rush In, to back up the patience is a virtue statement but then i could also say the early bird catches the worm.

The main point is, both Intel and AMD have yet to release their SB-E and BD cpu's yet they are both already touting their next cpu's. It's simply bullshit marketing on both sides. Yes they have given (Intel) release dates but rattling the collection can for the next big thang just gets f*cking boring man!

They're both bitches for holding out the shiny wrapped toy in one hand and having a shinier toy sitting in plain sight on the table beside them. Screw them both, I'll make my own cpu out of some sticky tape and an old swiss analogue clock. 1Hz here i come.

By "let me then..." do you mean, let me step up and be completely off topic, I assumed you were running an i7 and now that I look I was correct. Honestly, why not talk about the notebook itself.

It does say it is using a "Faster" Direct-X 11 GPU, so we can assume it's much more powerful than your standard IGP.

Companies will call a 1% increase in performance faster. But if this gpu can run a demanding DX11 (I assume they ran the game in DX11 mode, not DX9) at an HD or higher resolution, then I guess AMD's next-next-gen APUs will give Intel a bigger run for it's money.

Interesting thought! A 7000 series GPU might fit. If the 7970/7950 TDP numbers that was released earlier this week were correct, this may give way for putting an even stronger GPU in the APU die. Maybe the 6750 equivalent (7750?) or something close.

AMD actually said that Trinity would be Enhanced Bulldozer cores aka Piledriver. Next generation GPU, aka 7000 series, and a new FCH called Hondo. They said the socket would be changed to FM2.

I don't know if the Trinity ES will be using the 7000 series GPU in these demos as it should be a while away.

All I know about is the leaked slide. Hardly official if that's the only thing we are going on.
