In news, that will be sweet music to the ears of honest gamers, InfinityWard has been busily banning cheaters who exploit loopholes and coding errors in the game to get one over others. The figure is currently around the 1600 mark and rising, as InfinityWard's community man Robert Bowling posted on Twitter: Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in #MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works. Please cont. to report offenders. He then added: We are doing mass bans on PC as well while we work on updates. He has promised that a hot fix is in the works for multiple glitches that have been reported.

Now, while cheating is wrong, it can also be an incredibly fun, but guilty pleasure. So, is it really all the cheater's fault, when opportunities like this are laid at there feet? It's like giving someone a cake and telling them not to eat it. Perhaps the program code should have been more bug free in the first place, too?

compared to other games (BF3 anyone?) i don't think they have to worry about bugs at all

Cheating is fun in single player games. In any kind of multiplayer games, it's just lame.

I do agree that it is as much the dev's fault as the cheaters. With all of the testing that is supposedly done with these games before release, there should be no cheats to exploit when the game launches.

They either need to hire better game testers, or unlock the cheats for everybody.

That said, I personally don't cheat. I will keep my shitty scores knowing that no matter how bad they are, I earned them myself.

Cheaters have a small dick and no women, they have to do it to make themselves feel better.
I don't know what you're talking about. Men with big dicks are prone to cheating with lots of women.

yes cheating is wrong

No matter how well its writen coded or programed someones gonna find an glitch or a way to hack it whether by accident or intention. Its just the nature of man made things. Just ask that life lock guy with his ss# all over the place.

They can't cheat in real life, so they have to make up for it online.

Well, I think its great that MW3 has an active banning policy, hope that they continue doing that for years to come.

This is pretty much the motto in my gamer tag.
There are plenty of people young and old who cheat right from the start to appear like they are naturally skilled because they can not take anymore hits to the ego due to their small dick and not scoring the chicks.

So appear like an an online gaming hero because they're a real life zero.

This sort of no tolerance is great IMO and ALL games which are predominantly multi-player based should monitored this way.

I wish CM did the same with Race driver GRID and the DiRT series.
The score boards became messed up on PC from the get go.

Cheat away guys - how can anyone take this (online gaming) serious anyway. Not really news and not worth using space in any forum. Take that kids....

If you paid £40 for a product and it was ruined because someone else broke the rules of that product or the code of conduct, would you not be angry. Just because you don't take it serious doesn't mean anyone else cannot and that it is grounds to cheat.

Cheating in sports events is seen in the same light even though it is not in a virtual context.

Funny thing is, these cheating gamers do take the game seriously.
They are so hug up on stats and winning, they need to use exploits.

DiRT 3 for example:-
Beat them legitimately and by the time the loading screen to the next session appears, they are no longer in the lobby so their stats do not get affected.

Now that's taking the game seriously.

Don't mix it up with sport plaese. Gaming is for fat kids, sport is for active people.

Its an esport i think, so kinda is a sport, plus there are pro's that do it, same as there are pro sportsmen/women.

True.

Those crazy Koreans and Starcraft.
If you're good at it, you even get female groupies asking for your autograph! :wtf:

It's like another World over there.

mostly its Directx code being "hacked", not the actual game. That said there is no excuse for cheating, devs dont have to do anything but ban cheaters, every min spent on them is a waste of time besides that.

Same as golf is a sport? Yeah.

Edit: Still don't see the need for a "News" on that some kids feel that someboby is smarter then they are. Its a game.

Its not just 'A' game....

Its Call of Motherf**king Duty Modern Warfare 3 Motherf**ker!!! that game has sold more copies in its entire lifetime to date then youve had hot meals.

$775m in 5 days. Even though BF3 was long awaited it didnt get half as many sales.

Plus like people say...some peoples lives revolve around games or gaming in general.

Of course Golf is a sport, competitive activity is usually a sport, hell even welly throwing is a sport.

Well if you don't think its worthy new then just don't bother commenting on the thread then.

My source CVG figured it was and so did PC Mag, who also saw fit to cover CVG's story. That's two major publications. Does that convince you?

And yes, tigger is right, if you don't think it's worthy, then just ignore thread, but don't crap it. There's a zillion other threads on TPU for you to participate in.
