ADATA Intros S396 30 GB Value SSD

ADATA introduced a new value consumer SSD in its 300 Series, the S396 30 GB. Built in the conventional 2.5-inch form-factor, the drive makes use of the SATA 3 Gb/s interface. The drive offers sequential read speeds of up to 280 MB/s, up to 250 MB/s sequential write speeds, and up to 44,000 IOPS 4K random write performance. If those speeds hold up, the ADATA S396 30 GB should make for a decent entry-level SSD. Unfortunately, we don't have a price at hand.

been seeing some 30gb ssds reaching as low as $50, planning on getting 1 just to use as a program files folder, this seems like a good drive for that pricepoint

This would be very nice for any desktop or server. SSD for OS, applications and services. HDD for data. HDD gets backed up. It's a no brainer... if $50 then I would upgrade practically every machine.

Mah Wins 7 Ultimate x64 required more than 30GB, thought this not mah choice :-|

Ultimate 7 64 uses around 9 gigs of hdd.

The remainder is pagefile.sys and hiberfile.sys, located on your root/system drive, with the 'hidden' flag enabled.

Disable your page file, and pagefile.sys goes away.
Disable hibernation, and hiberfil.sys goes away.

This is how I run win 7 64 (any version) on small SSDs.
