ViewSonic has today released the VX2336s-LED, a 23-inch monitor which features LED backlighting and utilizes the SuperClear IPS technology enabling 'brilliant image quality' and viewing angles of up to 178/178 degrees (vertical/horizontal).

This new display also has a curved frame with piano-black mirrored surface, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 (20,000,000:1 DCR), a 14 ms response time, 250 cd/m2 typical brightness, D-Sub and DVI connectors, and the Eco-mode function for lower power consumption.

The VX2336s-LED is backed by a three-year warranty and costs £159 / $299.99.

Response time looks pretty bad compared to asus and dell, but I'm wondering if they're just being more honest.

One thing about ViewSonic is they do have a parts website that customers can go and get internal parts for their monitors should the need arise... not many others do it and your left searching the high priced vendors...

...why so cheap? That's bizarre. Looks like it's that price all over.

As an owner of a Dell IPS monitor i can say the response time for me has been atleast equal to my 5ms tn panel. (dell 2412m)

If they are indeed using black to white to black to white response time you could cut the response time in half for grey to grey which is what many manufacturers use. That would put it at a 7ms response time, possibly 6.. The same as a Dell/HP/etc. I would love to see a review on it.

*Here's what Maximum PC says:

Getting down to the nitty-gritty, the VX2336s-LED boasts a Full HD 1920x1080 native resolution, 250 cd/m2 brightness, 1,000:1 (typical) and 20,000,000:1 (dynamic) contrast ratios, 6ms response time (GTGbw), DVI-D and VGA inputs, and various Eco-mode functions.

Looking good. :)
