Transcend Information, Inc. (Transcend), a worldwide leader in storage and multimedia products, today announced the expansion of its flash card product line with the introduction of high-capacity 600X CompactFlash cards with capacities now ranging up to 64GB. The new 64GB 600X CF card also features ultra-fast transfer rates of up to 90MB/s and supports the VPG-20 specification, ensuring professional photographers and enthusiasts benefit from the full high-resolution recording capabilities of today's modern digital equipment.

Capturing fast-action images in enhanced detail, often during high-speed consecutive shooting or extended Full HD video recording sessions, requires a massive amount of storage space. Transcend's 600X CF cards target users who demand vast capacity, superior speed, and long-term reliability without the inconvenience of switching cards. The 64GB 600X CF card can capture more than 13,000 still images (with a 10 megapixel camera) and record over three hours of Full HD video (1920x1080 at 38.6Mbps), allowing users to take full advantage of their high-end digital single lens reflex cameras (DSLR) and HD video camcorders.

For fast transfers between card and camera, the 64GB 600X CF card operates in quad-channel mode using Ultra DMA (UDMA) mode 7, and offers staggering read and write transfer speeds of up to 90MB/s. Recently released by the CompactFlash Association (CFA), the VPG-20 specification guarantees that compliant CF cards, including Trancend's 16GB-64GB 600X and 32GB-64GB 400X CF cards, are capable of sustained video capture at up to 20 MB/s without dropping frames. As a result, Transcend's Ultimate 600X CompactFlash cards are the definitive storage media choice to meet the requirements of professional video capture
.
To assure robust durability and guaranteed performance, Transcend's 600X CF cards contain built-in Error Correction Code (ECC) that automatically detects and corrects errors during data transfer, and also utilize a sophisticated wear-leveling algorithm for consistent long-life operation. For further peace of mind, all Transcend CF cards are comprehensively tested for compatibility, speed and reliability, and backed by Transcend's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Aside from the new extra-large 64GB version, Transcend's 600X CF cards are also available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities.
