A prominent retailer started quoting prices for bundles of next-generation "Ivy Bridge" Core processors and motherboards based on Intel 7-series chipset. The table below reveals prices in Singapore Dollars (SGD) of a large number of board+processor combinations. The table includes current-generation "Sandy Bridge" Core processors and 6-series chipset motherboards, too, as the platforms are inter-compatible (you can run Ivy Bridge processors on 6-series chipset motherboards, and Sandy Bridge processors on 7-series chipset motherboards).

From these rates, VR-Zone derived estimated prices of some Ivy Bridge Core processors, again, in the Singapore market.
  • Intel Core i7-3770K : S$420 - S$430 (US $335 - US $343)
  • Intel Core i7-3770 : S$375 - S$385 (US $299 - US $307)
  • Intel Core i5-3570K : S$285 - S$290 (US $227 - US $231)
  • Intel Core i5-3550 : S$265 - S$255 (US $211 - US $203)
  • Intel Core i5-3450 : S$235 - S$245 (US $187 - US $195)

So you are looking at the 3770k and 3570k costing a similar amount to the 2600k and 2500k (or what they cost on release). Thats not too bad. Pretty sure it wont be worth upgrading from this 2500k unless there you can get ridiculous overclocks.

Ideally, Ivy Bridge Core i5/i7 is an upgrade for Lynnfield Core i5/i7 and Yorkfield-12M Core 2 Quad users. Architecturally, it's just a die-shrunk Sandy Bridge.

Those prices seem reasonable enough, will be a heck of an upgrade for me coming from a c2d e8500 (4GHz+ oc helps a bit though) :)
