Here's a picture of Toshiba's its newest gaming notebook in the works, the Qosmio X870. Although unveiled, it will be a little while before we can see this 17.3-incher in stores. That's because it's said to powered by "next-generation" Core processors (Ivy Bridge), and "next-generation" NVIDIA GeForce GPU (Kepler), with 3 GB of GDDR5 memory. Its 17.3-inch TruBrite display packs 1920x1080 pixels resolution. Other notable specifications of this brute includes 2TB SSD+HDD hybrid, Bluetooth 4.0, four USB 3.0 ports, Harman-Kardon speakers, Blu-ray drive, and wired Ethernet. According to the source, the Qosmio X870 is headed for a Q2-2012 launch.

After my extremely bad experiences with my Toshiba X205-SLi4, I sure hope these are free of video card and cooling issues. Otherwise, I think I'll go with a Sager/Clevo barebone for my next laptop (currently have a midrange Toshiba A665D-S6091).

I had an x205-sli3..I think it was more the 8600`s where just a bad chip for heat as every notebook i have seen that implimented that gpu single or sli suffered from heat issue`s,
Not that that will fill the void left in our wallets and trust.
Toshiba are not entirley at fault on this one though...that said the wierd stacked gpu arrangement did not help the faulty gpu`s that nvidia recalled and the plastic of the chassis was brittle and i always felt like it would bust when i picked it up. It sounded great though.
I sure do hope that the design and implementation of Toshiba high-end has improved..
But it has been my experience that nobody does gaming/desktop replacement laptops quite as well as alienware.

Its red. Qosmios are either Red or Orange in color. Can't wait to see the new one, but I really wish they'd drop prices on older Qosmios. The previous 2 models don't move much in price.

Yeah, true. I RMA'd mine 4 times and eventually it died a 5th so I had a $2400 paperweight 2 years later. My current midrange $700 Toshiba has been decent, though. I like all the features but a 450MHz HD 5650 DDR3 is quite slow, and the PowerXpress setup makes it even worse performance-wise (along with weird choppy scrolling problems in Chrome, Minecraft insta-crashes from 11.6 through 11.11 drivers *fixed now* and some games only being able to run on the HD 4250 IGP due to artifacts or weird game glitches). Probably more AMD's fault than anything but just a 650MHz 5650 with no PowerXpress would have been better IMO.

All that power in a laptop, cool but the asking price will probably be a real show stopper :pimp:
