PowerColor Radeon HD 7970 Vortex II Pictured

PowerColor's still-unreleased Radeon HD 7970 Vortex II graphics card has finally taken shape at CeBIT, it was pictured dismantled, and without a GPU in January. We are now learning about the clock speed this card will ship with, 1100 MHz core (compared to 925 MHz AMD reference), and an unknown (but higher than reference) memory clock speed. The Vortex II cooler allows users some control over the air-flow of the two fans on this card's cooling assembly, which could impact cooling performance and noise. The cooler uses a large heatsink to which heat is fed by four 8 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes.

Nice looking card .. Some Freaking HUGE ass heat pipes. However all that being said, I think i will still go for the lightning.

My First 6970 was the powercolor PCS+ ... it had all kinds of Issues. I returned it and got A MSI 6950 T/F III. Loved that card so much I then bought the Lightning ... best card I have ever ownd.

What's really going to be the primary factor for this card and similar offerings is overclocking ability/stability. Something tells me the cooling solutions might differ slightly in performance, but will all pretty much support their PCB until it fails to actually power an overclock properly. Who's got the best PCB?

nice n all but triple slotting is not ideal for multicard and machines that utilize more slots, how about an aftermarket cooler or PCS+

@ eidairaman1: Look's like DBL slot but to maintain efficiency i guess you would want the extra space for air circulation :eek:
