Sapphire technology is about to release Radeon X550 based video card with standard (active) and passive cooling.
The technical characteristics of both accelerators are identical:
Interface : PCI-E
Bus width : 64/128 bits
GPU : 400MHz
Memory : 250MHz (500MHz DDR)
Onboard memory : 128MB/256MB

The time of appearance in sale and the assumed price of the new cards is thus far unknown.However, most likely the products will be priced scarcely higher or equal to X300 based cards.

Seems they are still using TSOP RAM :( I would have thought that BGA would be the way to go...

Its just a 9550 chipset for PCI-E
Memory is 100 Mhz effective faster though.

My ASUS 9550GE [128-bit] 128MB runs at higher speeds [GPU: 470 MHz \ Memory: 520 MHz DDR] and it cost less than the x550
