MSI GeForce GTX 680 OC Detailed

MSI is working on a factory-overclocked GeForce GTX 680 graphics card, which was briefly put up on its German website, before being pulled, suggesting that the company is not entirely ready with it. Carrying the model number N680GTX-PM2D2GD5/OC, the card features NVIDIA-reference board design. It features out of the box overclocked core speeds of 1056 MHz (base core), 1111 MHz (boost core), vs. reference speeds of 1006 MHz (base core), 1058 MHz (boost core). The memory clock is unchanged, at 6.00 GHz (GDDR5 effective).



Update: Sources among retail channels told us that this particular model (N680GTX-PM2D2GD5/OC) was canned at the very last moment. It's possible, however, that the 1056(core)/1111(boost) MHz clock profile could be carried over to future non-reference design models, such as the Twin Frozr IV.

I bet the twin FrozR editions here are gonna cost about £50-60 more then the standard cards... shadedshu

I dont mind paying extra because they are good cards and the coolers are superior then most reference coolers but £60 is a lot when you cant buy your own aftermarket cooler for so much less.
The only catch with that though is the cards wont be 'dual slot' anymore which could mean problems with the top card overheating as the cards are sandwiched so close together.

IIRC each MFG's BIOS is digitally signed so not sure you can just swap BIOSes

It is OC's lol base clock is 1056 & boost clock is 1111 compared to 680 stock clock's of 1006 & 1056, it's right there bro

gtx 680 auto oc itself to 1111 when needed.

1150 gpu and 1750 memory

I can probably overclock much higher, but I keep it lower for the sake of guaranteed stability.

Eh, I'm over mine, great overclocker but AMD/ATI still haven't fixed the clocks being stuck in 2D when watching Giant Bomb (or other video sites) and trying to play a game. On top of that I get tiny flickers of textures, like the end of a swords texture stretching in a very slim line slightly across the screen every few minutes. I've been an ATI man since the 9800Pro, they always forget to fix the little things

Pump up the volts. I'm at 1225 on the 7950.
