EVGA Launches its GeForce GTX 690

EVGA kicked off its GeForce GTX 690 lineup with two models: the GTX 690 reference design (04G-P4-2690-KR), and the GTX 690 Signature Edition (04G-P4-2692-KR). Priced at US $999.99, the reference design package has everything necessary including fancy PCI-E power adapters, and case stickers. The card sticks to NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 915/1019/6008 MHz (core base/core boost/memory effective). The Signature Edition, on the other hand, charges a $50 premium for an EVGA-branded T-shirt and mousepad. The reference design is available on EVGA online store, while the Signature Edition is up for pre-order, at US $1,049.

Achem, VW Polo GTI in Australia once had a ~18month waiting list. VW could not keep up the supply to Australia. From memory I think it has reduced to around ~12months.

Yes, but by then I've lost interest and after 12-18 months NEW models are out.

Dunno why anyone is surprised EVGA didn't change anything, I've found their fair share of cards have gotten less and less innovative. The last time I'd even contemplate buying EVGA's overpriced line ups was back in the GTX 200 days. Now it just seems better to go with a MSI or Asus to be totally honest.

Nah man I see your point, especially with PC hardware. I wouldn't wait 18months for a Polo GTI, maybe a customised Porsche GT2RS but that really would not age anywhere near as bad as a Polo GTI let alone PC hardware.

You buy EVGA for their support and warranty. Its launch day, EVGA will have some sort of 690 with their own changes eventually. Just like their other 680 SKUs.

So let me see if i understand this. All GTX 690's look the damn same even tho from different companies. Not only that, some brands like evga with the same design cost about 50 bucks more with the same specs.

I am happy with my GTX 550ti :, that only cost me 150 and i can run pretty much any game at max settings at 1600x900 with FXAA enable
