Copper Manifolds

Hey there all, I'm Cory.
This is my first water cooled build mod of ANY sort, I have planned this out and carefully selected every piece for the best results. it's taken a good 4 months for purchasing and 1 month for modding building.
I started with a Haf X PC case and had it striped and nickle plated.
The vid water blocks are from Danger den and the MB and CPU blocks are from EK bought through Dazmode here in Toronto.
The manifolds are build by me using a pex style manifold.

I went this route b/c I wanted each component to have cool water and not have it add heat every stage. The manifold is fed via 2 1/2" ins to equal pressure and flow concerns. They also have brass ball valves to help regulate flow if needed. Also and easy way to lock off part of the system IF components need to be replaced.

If you have any questions about this please ask

Like the use of Copper and the classic Reserator.

Reserator fan

well i see one basic flaw in your design.. and its not a flaw that will kill your system but i could potentially damage it over time

you see ive had one of those old skool reserrators for a while.. and ive stopped using mine for one good reason.. it simply does not cool the resevoir enough on a hot summer day, i guess thats why Zalmann invented the reserator fan that goes on top of the reserator and blow air down along the "fins"... but i didnt see one of those on your pics :(

I found my rig to run hot on summer days here in Denmark where hot is kinda relative.. we are talking 25 to 30 degrees celcius outside in the shade... to be honest i never got around to getting my room temeprature taken when i had the problems... and mind you.. this was only with running watercooling on the CPU and NOT on the GPU.. which back then was a Gainward 7800GTX and my CPU was a AMD FX60 i think (not sure here)

so for you to run a single uncooled reserator on both your CPU and on DUAL GPU's is kinda optimistic i think... there is 1 upside to the reserator tho.. it is ULTRA quiet, altho i don't know the db lvl of the optional fan...

if i were you i would have gone for an actively cooled unit instead of the passive cooling tower, especially since you are cooling 3 components in your case

anyways best of luck and it looks damn cool for sure :D

Thanks for the info.
I am running a radiator 360 with three 120mm fans
I've run a number of days on 30c+ and the total heat will not go above 49c

sounds much better that you would put an active radiator on your rig.

The radiator you mention, is it the Black Ice GTX 360 ?

One year Update

Hey there all.
Thanks to anyone who is still reading this.
I thought I would make an update on how my computer is doing.
I have recently changed out some old bad hose that had gone hard and had growth in it despite i water change and flush and biocide added at the on year mark.
I changed out the CPU water block as the flow was a concern. I swapped it out with the new version of the same EK full copper water black. As the new one had a far bigger flow plate opening.
I removed the top GPU as it had failed at about the 9 month mark sadly. As I voided the warranty by adding the water black i had to buy a new one. This replacement has been put into my current media box to see how well it runs and to see if it fails b4 I water block it.

Other then that this machine runs VERY well and still under load it runs 6-10C above ambient temp with a healthy OC.
here is a link to my media box build and the most recent pictures of my computer
