Mionix, the Swedish manufacturer of professional high-end gaming accessories today unveiled the new SARGAS and ENSIS range of high performance gaming mousepads developed with their own Surface Quality Analyser Tool (S.Q.A.T).

S.Q.A.T explained

The Surface Quality Analyser Tool is built into the Mionix NAOS 5000 gaming mouse and measures the data loss between images of the surface taken by the mouse sensor. This information is translated in to a rating between 1 and 10, where a low number represents a higher data loss and a higher number represents a lower data loss between the surface and the mouse sensor. Mousepads rated 8/10 or above will provide no loss of tracking* and improved accuracy.

"We saw tracking issues that many professional gamers experienced, which lead to bad accuracy when moving the mouse very quickly in games. In most cases the issue was not created by the sensor solution in the gaming mouse, but instead was due to the users bad quality gaming surface which are not optimized for the gaming grade sensors used today." says Peter Nygren CEO at Mionix AB.

The ENSIS range

The black coated ENSIS 320 and hairline brushed ENSIS 320 LUNA not only look sleek but are constructed of super fine aluminium alloy. 2 mm low profile and super smooth surface make the ENSIS range our most high-end gaming surface to date.

The SARGAS range

The uncoated microfiber of the SARGAS range defines the new standard of uncoated mousepads available today. The characteristics of an uncoated mousepad surface gives a smooth controlled friction glide with added agility to all gamers. The SARGAS range comes in three different sizes including the SARGAS 900 deskpad.

Availability and Pricing

All mousepads will be available in late September 2012.

I'll stick to my icemat, aluminium pads are just as smooth but they still require cleaning and they are louder. Also man people like large mousepads to go with their gaillion dpi mice. But then again I only use like 2x2inches to move around just using my fingers which in part why i don't use soft mousepads i end up wearing down a specific spot and it just gets fucked up and frayed, along with now lazer mice out there you really should be using a hard flat stable surface.
