Today Logitech announced the next generation of its award-winning line of Harmony remotes, the Logitech Harmony Touch. This premium advanced universal remote gives you customization with an intuitive color touch-screen for unprecedented control of your home-entertainment system.

Designed to make finding your preferred entertainment as easy as possible, the Logitech Harmony Touch lets you add, remove and re-order up to 50 favorite channel icons from your respective cable or satellite provider right on its vibrant 2.4-inch color touch-screen. After simple online setup, you and your family can access all your favorite channels with a simple tap, swipe or scroll, removing the hassle of memorizing channel numbers and scrolling through lengthy on-screen guides. You can personalize the experience to quickly and easily find all of your favorite entertainment - from TV and movies to games and music - with one touch.

"The Logitech Harmony Touch represents the next evolution for the universal remote," said Joerg Tewes, vice president of Logitech's digital home business group. "Today, people prize convenience and want home-entertainment systems that are impressive and easy to use. With this in mind, Logitech designed a remote that makes it simple for people to customize their experience, and feel in control of their systems like never before."

This remote's ergonomically sculpted shape and streamlined button layout present a sleek, minimalist design that enhances the look of your living room. Plus, its low-profile keys are backlit so you can easily navigate your favorite entertainment, even in the dark.

The Logitech Harmony Touch is compatible with more than 225,000 home-entertainment devices and more than 5,000 brands, and it can control as many as 15 devices. And its included charging station keeps your remote powered and within reach so it's ready to go, no matter the activity.

Pricing and Availability
The Logitech Harmony Touch is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in October 2012, for a suggested retail price of $249.99.

$250 for a remote with a layout that looks like it was designed by some random company in China... yeah right...

Harmony 900 was launched for 399 but it can be found for 250 now ( 255 in Amazon )

I have a Harmony 1, great remote! No need to upgrade, my cable provider has an intuitive GUI that I could navigate half dead :)

A remote with voice command; That I'll buy! :rockout:

these remotes are amazing. I have been using them for several years. the only reason I wouldn't buy or recommend one is for a high end install.

I have the Harmany 650 and 700 and both are great. After using a Harmany, there's no going back regardless. :)

They still need to make one that has both IR and Bluetooth built in, so I can control my PS3 with it.

The problem with all harmoney remotes is that if you buy another device and also want to control it, you have to have a harmoney account and internet access. You then run the risk that someone has uploaded faulty codes for a device you have already configured on your remote so when you 'connect' and update, the remote doesn't work as it should.

It would be much better if the programing software could handle a local database for your devices with code upload options to the logitech database rather than being forced to always connect to the logitech database. But logitech is more interested in mining your data than producing the best possible user experience.

The possibilities were that you had a good remote when programed and working but the reality is likely a potential PITA to reprogram when buying other equipment!!

And yes, logitech should have produced a remore with BT & IR capabilities integrated in the hanset but instead they choose a to sell an RF handset (with IR spiders) along with a further BT addons (which is controlled by IR). Clunky at best but consuming too many power points!!

Yeah, I don't like the BT transmitter add-on, because I actually use my PS3 remote from all over the house when I'm doing things. Totally defeats the purpose of using a RF technology when you have to be in the line of sight.
