Noctua today introduced the first three models of its new A-series of premium quality quiet fans: The NF-A4x10, NF-A6x25 and NF-A9x14 all feature Noctua's novel AAO frames and the series' signature Flow Acceleration Channels for reduced boundary layer separation and improved aerodynamic efficiency. Reference class SSO2 bearing and 6 years manufacturer's warranty make the new models a stand-out choice for all noise-sensitive 40, 60 and 92mm applications.

"We have been getting a lot of requests for 40 and 60mm models both from our industry clients and customers who seek to replace noisy fans in network and storage solutions", says Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO. "We're confident that the new NF-A4x10 and NF-A6x25 are highly competitive offerings for these types of applications, their efficiency really pushes the boundaries in these form factors."

Noctua's new A-series fans use a novel aerodynamic design measure called Flow Acceleration Channels that allows them to significantly improve the airflow to noise performance of conventional, uniform blade shapes. By speeding up the airflow at the crucial outer blade regions, Flow Acceleration Channels reduce suction side flow separation and thus lead to better efficiency and lower vortex noise.

Another aspect that contributes to the NF-A4x10's and NF-A6x25's outstanding performance is their reduced motor hub size: Thanks to a streamlined, compact motor design, their motor hub is smaller than with conventional 4 or 6cm fans, which allows for more blade surface area and thus contributes to the fans' superior efficiency.

"Like the NF-A4x10 and NF-A6x25, the NF-A9x14 is a response to the trend towards miniaturisation", explains Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO. "ITX based Mini-PCs and low-profile HTPCs with powerful CPUs are becoming more and more popular nowadays and they require quiet, highly efficient yet slim fans for cooling."

Measuring only 14mm in thickness, the NF-A9x14 is much slimmer than standard 92x25mm fans. This makes it ideal for all applications where standard fans would take up too much space, such as low profile CPU coolers in HTPC builds or server environments.

All three fans employ the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing as well as Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames that feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua's proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fans' performance/noise efficiency. Like all Noctua fans, the NF-A9x14, NF-A6x25 and NF-A4x10 have an MTBF rating of more than 150.000 hours and come with a full 6 years manufacturer's warranty.

Pricing and availability
The new fans will be available immediately at recommended retail prices of EUR 12.90 / USD 15.90 (NF-A4x10), EUR 14.90 / USD 17.90 (NF-A6x25) and EUR 16.90 / USD 19.90 (NF-A9x14).

lol. Guilty! I really think the thinness is key. If you've built itx/matx htpcs you likely know what I mean.

noctua really damn long pr statement said:

I love Noctua for the simple fact they make me feel like I'm not alone in this world.

I cant bring myself to buy a product that looks like shit. No matter how good they are the colour scheme is a massive turn off. I wonder if they will ever make them in non shit colours.
