Logitec Japan introduced the Skylink HD series of compact single-drive home NAS servers. Measuring 160 x 143 x 45 mm, the device tucks away a discrete 3.5-inch drive bay, which comes pre-installed with 3 TB or 2 TB WD Red (NAS-optimized, fit for 24x7 operation) or WD Green (energy-efficient) HDD options. The 3 TB and 2 TB WD Red-equipped models are priced at 22,980 JPY (US $292) and 16,980 JPY ($216), respectively; while the 3 TB and 2 TB WD Green-equipped ones go for 19,980 JPY ($254) and 14,980 JPY ($190), respectively. The Skylink HD series NAS servers draw power from an external AC adapter. Gigabit Ethernet is the only network interface. The units also feature a couple of USB 2.0 ports, to expand storage. Most common NAS features are included with the Skylink HD, including media streaming.
