NZXT Announces the Crafted Series Phantom 820 ATX Full-Tower Case

NZXT announced the next-generation of its Crafted Series Phantom line of premium gaming PC cases. The first model in the lineup is the Phantom 820. This ATX full-tower features a stylish new design that builds on the "edgy" design scheme of the original series. Measuring 210mm x 473mm x 490mm (W x H x D), the ATX full-tower case is designed for XL-ATX, E-ATX, ATX, mATX, and uITX motherboards. The case is designed with enough room for multiple 35 cm-long graphics cards, and water-cooling equipment, for which additional room can be made by removing portions of the drive cages.

The case includes room for four 5.25-inch drive bays, and six 3.5-inch (convertible to 2.5-inch) drive trays spread across two detachable cages. There are a total of nine expansion slots. The motherboard tray is surrounded by rubberized ducts that help with cable and coolant tubing management. Ventilation includes 200 mm front-intake, 200 mm side intake (below an acrylic window), 140 mm rear and top exhausts. Ample front-panel connectivity is included, with a number of USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, in addition to audio. Made primarily of SECC, the Phantom 820 uses high-grade gunmetal ABS exteriors. I really like that xigmatex case looks industrial but is rock solid and clean looking.

The price of this case deserves more quality and attention to details, buttons and leds looks so cheap.

I would prefer Cosmos 2 instead of this NZXT for 250 dollars

Part of the appeal of the original Phantom was its decent price. At $250, the aluminium Lian-Li's becomes a viable (and better imo) choice.

Awsome case. Follows the footsteps of its predecessor. I tip a hat to all the teams involved in the design to assembly work. I wouldn't buy it, only because I am not going back to regular size motherboard- mATX and miniITX cover all my possible needs.

i have see the video review on youtube and for me the price is too much higher when internal is like the nzxt 810 and put some lights controlls.
remain a good case but the hard disc brackets are very flimsy.

Now that you put it that way....I realized it really is the same chassis, but with a side fan and some other goodies and new plastic. Still a good case though. More like a Switch 810 ver. 1.5

Just doing a visual comparison , I don't think those posted dimensions are right .
18.6 height ? , judging from space on bottom (case is elevated compared to many and clearance above the MB tray , that got to be 20-21 high . posted size is mid tower specs .

My only complaint about this case is the front door. Every case I have EVER owned with a front door has broken. I now tend to stay away from cases with front drive bay doors.

The Only difference I can see in the size specs is the Phantom seems larger because of the huge plastic feet on the bottom.... otherwise I think it's almost the exact same case as the Switch 810.

Plastic feet giving the appearance that the case is much taller then the Switch 810

I think I'd rather see NZXT's attempt at a new mATX/mini ITX case than yet another Phantom. It looks more boring than the original, if not worse and it's too expensive...I'd be surprised if this succeeds.

I was a bit disappointed myself that Nzxt hyped up this case just to find out it was a Switch 810 with fancy plastics and Led's. If the Ph820 was the same price tag of the Switch, then it would be an awesome tower for Nzxt fans. Enthusiast's are still gonna buy/ mod this beast I'm sure. I will never be interested in a 820 of my own, however I will still enjoy the epic builds to come...
