Since its launch back in November last year, the PS3 has suffered shortages in a number of areas with Sony struggling to meet demand. However, the company is now claiming that production should equal demand by the end of May - for North America anyway. SCEA chief Jack Tretton said "April or May is when we feel like we're going to catch up to demand and have product fully in stock across North America and stay there." At present the PS3 is the lowest selling console compared to its main rivals, the Wii and the Xbox 360, with high costs and supply problems being the main culprits. Whether or not Europe will suffer any shortages is unclear, but the removal of the Emotion Engine from European consoles has prompted a slightly hostile attitude with consumers arguing they pay more and get less.

I have seen the ps3 in a lot of stores around here. Yet I have not seen a Wii one time in a store and it is really surprising to me.

Looks like the Peice Of Shit3 hasnt been as popular as Sony would of liked in the first place. Sure they run out of units, but thats because there werent as many as available in the first place.

I think Sony came to the market way too late on this one. They left Microsoft and Nintendo to dominate the market for the first few months, so only deadly serious obsessive gamers and Sony fanboys actually want the PS3.

This is completely true. I think Sony is pushing their luck, first they say we European customers are more forgiving, and we somehow "gladly" pay more for stuff than in other regions?? But this will end up in Sony´s rectum. The tragic thing about this is, they cant even see how stupid they are acting. I hope it will blow in their face... Xbox360 FTW.

I see them in Target and Walmart around here. However, I Do not see a Wii. Right now, the Legend of Zelda and the Sports pack (not sure about mario, havent played it) are the only good things for Wii that I see. The PS3 has alot of awesome games, but they have to be FUN and not just beautiful :)

The only console out of three I would even consider buying right now is the Xbox360. I had a Wii, I didn't like it, I sold it. I am saving my money for other things, but if I was in a store right now with all three sitting in front of me to buy, and the money to buy any of them I would buy the Xbox360. The reason is simple, it has the most fun games available for it right now, and will continue to have the most fun games for some time.

The Wii only really has 2 games that interested me, Wii Sports and Zelda. I beat Zelda, and was left with a bad taste in my mouth both about the game and the console, so I sold it.

The PS3 only really has 2 games that look interesting to me at this point, Resistance and Blazing Angels(what can I say, I am a flight sim fan). I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money for 2 games.

On the other hand there are several games that look really appealing to me on the 360. There is Lost Planet, Deadrising, Crackdown, and Gears of War.

I am sure eventually, all three will have great game selections, but right now the 360 wins hands down, IMO.

I have to agree with you on the game selection, newtewkie. (oh, and just a fyi, Blazing Angels is on 360 too. I have it and love it. GoW is also amazing) Although game selection will undoubtedly get better for PS3, I felt that 360 was still the way to go for me as well. Just got the HDDVD add on too. When I bought it(end of Nov, beginning Dec) I could've waited a couple of months to buy a PS3, but game selection made me buy the 360 and HDDVD. I still want a PS3 (I'm a huge Gran Turismo fan), but I think I'll wait it out for a while and hope for a price drop.
