There is no "HD 7890". It's going to be called "HD 7870" officially, and "HD 7870-1536SP" in bargainese (universal buyer language).

Well, btarunr you post it then figure it out, don't you proof read your own stuff?

And WOW Club is stupid not to differentiate this from a 7870, I mean why wouldn’t you want to make it appear to make a clear distinction. It’s got Boost, and then just the 2Gb on 256-Bit... So is this a Tahiti LE what the shader count?

Thats saying... CGAX-7876DS - 1000 MHz GPU clock, 2048MB GDDR5 256 BIT- 4800 MHz Memory clock, 1280 Stream processors - Dual CrossFire - CoolStream high performance cooling

While btarunr link has it a as... CGAX-7876XT - 925 MHz GPU clock speed - 975 MHz GPU Boost clock speed, 2048Mb GDDR5 256 Bit 6000 MHz Memory clock speed - Stream processors - CoolStream high performance cooling - Overclock

Although, none of the techical spec's are giving the SHADER count... Other than saying "To Be Announced"!

Maybe they intend two Joker's for us and it's just the second of the Pitcairn Deck, except with Boost? IDK

And WOW Club is stupid not to differentiate this from a 7870, I mean why wouldn’t you want to make it appear to make a clear distinction. It’s got Boost, more Shaders, but then just the 2Gb on 256-Bit dang-it. I’d rather had the 384-Bit with 2Gb the extra Shaders and no Boost, as I would want to OC anyway...
I hope other AIB’s do it different, but I don’t think so.

Thats saying... CGAX-7876DS - PCI Express 3.0 - 2048MB - GDDR5 - 256 BIT, 1000 MHz GPU clock speed - 1280 Stream processors - 4800 MHz Memory clock speed - Dual CrossFire - CoolStream high performance cooling

Maybe they intend two Joker's for us?

if amd plans on keeping it 7870 then its official name should be 7870 XT you cant just leave the name the same, only NVidia does crap like that

Nope here's the "News" page and it is saying " powered by 1536 Stream Processors". So it has to be the Tahiti LE, but I'd say it being slapped on a on a Pitcairn PCB (but how they work the Boost?), not a Tahiti board and what would offer a more robust power section.

http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/ne...adeon-hd-7870-jokercard-incredible-value.html

Man this wasn't what I wanted a Tahiti LE to be... was hoping for 384-Bit while say 2Gb. I don't care for the Boost as I'd be OC'n it anyway. Let's hope Other AIB's deal it out differently.

By then it should still be able to play Modern Warfare: Black ops VII, if we take into consideration the current changes to the graphics engine.

210w powertune? So we can infer 175w TDP stock...exact same as 660ti (after tdp boost or whatever it's called)...ick for stock efficiency if that's true. That said, stock voltage is prolly through the damn roof like 7950 BE so they can use as many chips as possible.

Probably performs close to a stock 660ti at stock 670 power for 660 price, if you want a flat comparison. Shows that amd could sure use a chip 75% the size of tahiti, that's for sure.

With 210w though (7870 is 170w max...7950 200w...7950 BE 225w) it should overclock pretty darn well given the lower utilization of shaders, less ram, and disabled mem controllers versus even 7950 Original Gangsta edition.

At the end of the day, sounds like what we thought it would be...A cheaper alternative to the 660ti that probably performs similar stock/overclocked but uses more power.

I though that 7870 already did that at $50 less

Fall 2012 GPU and Driver Comparison Roundup

The most interesting stand out from this evaluation has been the NVIDIA GTX 660 Ti, which is priced significantly higher than the Radeon HD 7870 while turning in similar performance numbers. The GTX 660 Ti has lost its value at this point in time, lending way to the Radeon HD 7950 which has benefited from falling prices and new drivers.
