Xigmatek Talon PC Chassis Announced and Up for Pre-Order

Xigmatek has now officially unveiled the Talon, a mid-sized PC chassis 'inspired by the latest in advanced aeronautical and automotive design concepts'. Part of the Stealth series, this new case measures 561 (L) x 553 (H) x 220 (W) mm, it offers support for ATX, micro ATX and mini ITX motherboards, and features a black coating both inside and out, a top-placed I/O panel (2 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0, HD audio ports), three external 5.25-inch bays, eight 3.5-inch internal drive trays (up to five 2.5-inch drives can also be installed), and two pre-installed fans - one 200 mm model in front, one 140 mm spinner at the rear.

The Talon is now listed with a price tag of €99.90 and is set to ship on January 14.

Really eww ..i my self like cases that the whole front can maximize input air flow which is pretyy much why the last case i got was the old old version of the TT armor case. However i don't even bother with a case no more as the only ones i really like are done by mountain mods and cost around $400-$600 cubes type.

Jeez... I have no issue at all with the front-to-rear angle. At least it doesn't lean sideways!

When you sit down in front of your computer desk and glance over at your system, your perspective already makes your system look asymmetrical.

It's not going to hurt the function of anything - laptops function fine on lap desks that are angled.

I'm thinking they are exaggerating any real benefits, but it does give more intake for the PSU intake by lifting the rear of the case.

Overall, this is the first Xigmatek case that I might buy. Nice of them to have 8 expansion slots, as now I can actually consider it for my next purchase... The Asgard Pro and a few others have been nice, but always 7-slot cases (except the Elysium, which is way more than I need...).

It would be nice if they offered a top vented panel that has angled louvers styled like the 5.25" bay covers, or at least a vented one that looks like the lower portion of the front of the case. The standard smoked plexi cover does seem to have a small provision for venting at the front and rear edges up top.

I would add a bottom 120/140mm intake fan and use my H60 with a 120-140mm fan adapter shroud on the rear exhaust because I don't particularly care for side or top fans (I like quiet), but for those who want either a 240mm radiator or fans up top, just removing the smoked plexi top panel might not look good.

Maybe they'll offer another version with such a top cover later.

I did go through their webpage on this case and it shows that the case comes with a ODD semi-stealth cover and 5x 2.5" dive trays to swap out with the upper section 3.5" trays. You first undo the backside wall of the bay area and re-attach it to make it the narrower width. Looks like you can also mount a fan on that panel:

Good one... but I think you know what I mean...

If your PC is below you on the floor, you see the top and a bit of the front. If you have it on your desktop, you can't see the top at all.

There have been plenty of cases that have angled tops - the bottom is the only part that is a new idea.

Oh, well - if nobody likes it but me, that's OK. Hope it pops up on a US reseller site soon, although I am also considering the Corsair 550D. This should be noticeably cheaper, if not as quiet. I'd just get new fans - which I'd also be doing to the 550D anyway.

maybe since heat rises and is usually/mostly exhausted out the back, it'll help airflow. only conclusion i can come to.
