PS3 to get Improved Online Capabilities This Autumn

Senior industry executives have revealed that Sony is planning its latest online service for the new PS3, Playstation Home, for this autumn. PS Home is intended to improve upon the current offerings from Microsoft and Nintendo, letting players create online identities to record various achievements in different games, and unlocking a number of 'prizes' for gamers. Phil Harrison (Sony's president of worldwide studios) is expected to give an official announcement later today at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The Playstation Network used by the PS3 at the moment has often been criticised compared to Microsoft's Xbox Live service, but Sony will be hoping to get back on a par with Microsoft once Playstation Home is launched.

LoL @ Sony! -.- At least they admit that Playstation Network is trash. Competition is good however. Xbox live will have to get even cooler once sony duplicates it! WOOT

Your being to hard on sony, just shut up and buy and play they're console not like its gonna hurt you or anyone i have the Wii and the xbox360 im satisfied but I still would love to play whatever sony has to offer its all the same now, if you want a certain game go with that console if not bitch bitch bitch, if your a pc fanboy all the way then just....comment to pc related things the consoles are slowly getting better and better, and IMO all the consoles are just so amazing. thank god for sony, microsoft, nintendo, and sega(we miss sega dont we?).

With or without Playstation Home I was planning on getting a PS3. Playstation Home looks pretty sweet. Not too sure why people are complaining about the PAL version of the console so much.

Sony is clearly admitting some stage of defeat in this, or at least an interest in wanting to better themselves, I think that's the key here.

isnt the sony service free?, cause thats what really put me off xbox live (1st one, havent got round to getting a current gen console(i wont call them next gen, theyre not) as every time i have a few spare £££ this p.c. eats it

Just because you can't afford a decent PC, doesn't mean you need to go calling us fanboys. Once PCs are integrated with Xbox Live, PCs will OWN consoles in every aspect.

I said IF, and Im not calling everyone a pc fanboy now am i? and yes I can afford a decent pc..which you obviously havent seen....why does that matter in this? ofcourse the consoles wont be as good as the PC's but doesnt mean they have to stop making the consoles, what really matters is that the consoles are one of the best things to ever happen in gaming period, pc's are good but it all depends on what the person wants to play and that what makes pc's better then consoles because it has so much more. And pc's do own consoles already.....that happened like........at the beginning of goddamn time? just trying to put comments out there is always some guy trying to start a fight on the internet pff

Ok, you have a point. It depends on your lifestyle. Girls and Old people do not have the intellectual performance to play challenging games; therefore their ideal system would be the Wii for games like Wii Sports and Wario Ware. The rest who like a challenge are stuck with Consoles & PCs because not all games are released for the PC.
