While eBay is upgrading their interface it got severe security problems underneath which it tries to cover up. Firemeg, a blog dedicated to eBay watching, has a rather comprehensive report about the latest doings of Vladuz, a Romanian hacker. Vladuz, who's intention it is to reveal the security issues, broke into the Trust & Safety board at eBay.com and posted "information of fifteen different eBay members, including social security numbers, credit card numbers, bank account and routing numbers, ATM PIN numbers, mother's maiden names, driver's license numbers, as well as home addresses and full contact information". It took the persons in charge nearly an hour before everything was deleted. But Vladuz was not beaten, he posted all the information again on 12 different subforums again.
As I already wrote, this is not the only thing Vladuz has done so far. At the end of February he was active in the eBay forums using a so called 'pinkliner' account, an account which got Administrator's rights. eBay, in order to appease the nervous public, said he just got aware of 'some' account login. But the real dubious thing is that the name of this account was "vladuzsgi" - what a coincidence...

It's still the best place for bargains in Europe because we don't have sites like newegg.com here.

So ebay has forums or boards to post on? I cant remember what info I had to give ebay to register, but I dont think it detailed any of that information. Just my email, name and address i believe. Now, paypal, ask for some of that stuff, but neither one asks for my SSN. Kind of worried now as I just bought me a Black & Decker Firestorm (made by Dewalt) 8 piece combo 18v kit.

I so Hate ebay. It's a worthless, overpriced, hacked, junk yard that reminds me of a rednecks front lawn.. a bunch of old cars and useless crap.. anything actually worth buying is so overpriced you'd be an idiot to buy it from there rather than likely anywhere else on the planet.. also I got ripped off for a $600.00 transaction using pay pal and everything... the site is a total hack. I closed my account today permanently.. they wouldn't offer any kind of refund by the way when i got ripped off.. nice customer service lol.. "there is none"

Hello newegg, goodbye ebay.. :D

I got a good case for my phone..and uhm...ripped off, yep, thats it lol.. oh and the phone case came completely unassembled and it took me hours just to figure it out. It's a razor case, blue. you actually have to glue pieces together lol.. I didn't see that coming.. fun though, kept me occupied lol.. ebay use to be great, it just keeps getting worse and worse it seems. now a days they have flooded the internet with so much spam, it just shows how low class they are.. every search engine has ebay come up in the title even when your not looking for something even remotely related to what ebay has for sale.. if you google "I want to talk to God" it will come up "Talk to god" @ ebay .com lol.. find everything you want at ebay.com lmfao.. it's ridiculous and shows bad business ethics. the only way you come up in google is by designing your site to be "google friendly" they made it so their searches hack their way into the engine.. it's just a very low class thing to do in my book.

Oh, let's not forget the constant bogus emails I get now from people trying to hack me using ebays template to try to get me to sign into a fake site so they can steal my password, I get at least 2 of those a week, no joke.. that place is a train wreck waiting to happen.
