yes but that's just proves how stupid they are, if there is a need for this case they should have brought it in at a more reasonable price instead of milling it out of a bug ass chunk of metal, sure its cool but they just destroyed their potential market.

Ummmm nope. There would be a ridiculous amount of waste if that was the case. (haha case). A chunk of aluminium that size would cost a fortune.

Anyway, the sides/front are 5mm aluminium sheet that have been bent, different piece for top and bottom.

I like it. We don't see enough of these quality cases. I'm so sick of plastic and boring cases.

Touch screen on the front panel is cool and wouldn't be cheap by itself.

no. aluminum scrap is easily melted and reused again for making another one.
so no. no wastage. any industry using aluminum does that. not just aluminium, but for most metals.
all the waste from machining processes are sent to the furnace to be melted and used again.

For 800 USD I feel like I might as well get a Titan instead. It looks like a fantastic case but I don't see the price tag being worth it at all.

Where does it say it is milled from one aluminum block?

And aluminum is not easily recyclable to the same grade as it was delivered in due to contamination of other metallic particles. Cleaning a melt is energy intensive and you need special chemicals for it as well. You should always go for near net shaping even with aluminum.

I would like to know this as well. Just from looking at it I see some large pieces that were done at once, but not the entire case. It's certainly not made up of a ton of small parts, that's pretty obvious but I don't know about all one piece.

1. It's not milled out of a solid block. Stop being ignorant.
2. This is somehow related to the company OrigenAE, they have something in common, they use the same manufacturer or they are the same people or they have some sort of agreement. Their case looks like a modified OrigenAE S21T. http://www.origenae.co.kr/en/htpc_s21t.htm I'm wondering that no one has observed this yet.
3. Although I don't like it's form factor, I'm happy that this case exists. Most other products just feel cheap, this includes ANY lian li or silverstone or corsair or whatever manufacturer. Material thickness of less than 1 mm, lots of plastic "features" and so on... I'm pretty sick of that. Now someone tries to do better, and people instantly cry about the $800 price tag. I wish there were more cases of this quality level.

they did say its one piece, which does imply it was carved out of a single block.

and ofcourse they dont use a solid block, they make the mould to the nearest meaurements possible and then mill off the rest.

we use and recycle aluminum for moulding regularly in the forge.
you just need to be sure not to let other metals in, which is why chip from mills are collected separately and they are milled in an enclosure which helps too.

and its not possible to recycle the aluminum itself. but recycled aluminium is added to new aluminium in a definite ratio which helps keep the grade constant. its not like you use ONLY recycled aluminium to make something.

if you look at the outershell, it is a single piece. plus its 5mm thick. normal secc cabinets are made in press and the holes and stuff are stamped out. but you can only stamp out till a certain thickness and ductility of a material..

its true that the smaller parts were individual like the sidepanel, drive bays. but they are made from single blocks.

and judging from the price, it was indeed made on a CNC mill.

Look at the gallery pictures on the product page. It's certainly not milled from one piece of aluminium. The front and sides are made from a single piece of aluminium which I assume has been bent because milling that would be insane. The top, bottom and rear panels are all separate.

Milled cast or assembled $800 is still stupidly expensive for a computer case.

This does not look like a billet chassis, it appears to be a formed chassis. It's nice looking, though odd in shape but the price is still laughable however. Anbody buying one of these has Loser tatooed on their forehead.

I did not say that. I just implied that getting the same spec aluminum from something that has been processed is hard since you need to purify it again and add alloying elements to get to the same grade which is not a trivial process if your goal is to recycle. Downcycling to something less pure, lower grade aluminum is done lot because it is cheaper and easier.

This case is stupid. There were a handfull of case makers attempting similar cases for HTPC enthusiasts but quickly they realized noone is willing to pay damn near $1k for a freakin' case! :slap:

Also, at this price, i'd be having a custom case made up. ;)

I feel sorry for anyones children who buy/bought this case...
