SAPPHIRE Technology has just introduced two new models to the successful HD 7700 series of graphics cards delivering an even more affordable choice of graphics cards based on the revolutionary new graphics GCN (Graphics Core Next) architecture from AMD.

The SAPPHIRE HD 7700 series is an extensive family of graphics cards targeting the enthusiast on a budget and mainstream users looking for increased graphics performance. It is based on the latest generation of GPU's from AMD built in its 28nm process and featuring the highly acclaimed GCN graphics processing architecture. The new HD 7730 1GB and 2GB GPUs have an optimised internal structure sharing many of the features of the higher performance models in the HD 7000 series but with fewer Stream Processors, and delivering the best price:performance ratio in their class.

Two models of the HD 7730 are being introduced by SAPPHIRE at launch. Both models have 384 Stream Processors and core clock speeds of 800MHz. The SAPPHIRE HD 7730 1GB model is loaded with 1GB of the latest DDR5 memory with an effective memory clock speed of 4500MHz. The HD 7730 2GB model has 2GB of DDR3 memory wih an effective clock speed of 1800MHz. Both models have the output configuration of DVI, HDMI and VGA, and can support simultaneous display on two monitors.

The SAPPHIRE HD 7700 series is ready for DirectX 11.1 and the Windows 8 operating system as well as delivering all the features of DirectX 11 such as DirectCompute11 and multi threaded communications with the CPU. Communication with the host PC is optimised with the implementation of the latest high speed PCI-Express Gen3.0 interface, and multiple cards can be used to further enhance performance in software CrossFireX mode on a suitably specified mainboard. The HD 7730 models are compatible with systems using the latest UEFI BIOS for enhanced boot times and security options.

APP Acceleration is the name given to the enhanced performance of a wide range of applications using the stream processing capabilities and specific hardware features of the graphics architecture. The HD 7000 series has been optimised for this type of task. Typical applications include Video encoding and decoding, compression and multiplexing for media distribution, gaming or video conferencing. APP acceleration can also enhance everyday tasks such as Internet browsing, Office applications and file compression with supported software suites.

In addition, the HD 700 series supports a number of AMD specific enhancements including AMD Image quality enhancement technology, AMD Cutting-edge integrated display support and AMD Powerplay Power management technology.

384 ALU's on this card is EXACTLY the same amount as an 8650G integrated GPU. I guess there is a market for this as AMD doesn't have anything under $95-100, but I dont see many being sold....

But 7730 has 2GB memory :O
That's like a 400$ card!

Overall its just a pointless card to fill a small hole. 2GB is laughable on a card such as this. Marketing gimmick is all.

LOL :toast:

seriosuly though, 2GB of DDR 3 is retarded in this day and age and the 1GB version could barely use the 1GB of DDR 5 memory anyhow with that little GPU power...

Good to we know how GCN performs clock per clock against evegreen/northern islands.

The price of this entry-level card is not good for me(better than the IGPs but 30-35$ cheaper than 7750/GTX 650). Hope it performs much better against competition(GT 640 and 6670 GDDR5) to make more sense buy this card.

This would work perfect with the A10-6800k :)

Now we discover 7750 making xfire with the richland/trinty a10(and it looks like 7770 can be xfired too)(catalyst 13.1 necessary) and the results seems very good. Too bad we discover this so late...
