Genius introduces its new 2-in-1 device, the Cam Mouse, an innovative mouse that becomes a camera with instant photo uploading, QR code scanning and more.
The Cam Mouse combines a 1200 DPI mouse with a 2 MP camera, bringing the best of both worlds. And while cameras on notebook monitors are awkward and unwieldy, the Cam mouse is as easy to use as a small hand-held camera. Plus it can seamlessly switch between mouse and camera modes in a split second - simply slide open the lens cover and snap away.

Cuecat was a bit different. Cuecat did not function as a mouse and you had to use special Cuecat barcodes. Neither regular barcodes nor QR codes(which weren't mainstream at the time) worked. I know, because I still have mine laying around somewhere. That thing was utterly useless, lol.
This is a fully-functioning camera that doubles as a QR code/barcode scanner, which itself is built into a functioning mouse. Brilliant idea, but I doubt its success. How many people are going to be willing to use a 1200DPI mouse for the sake of not having to use a dedicated webcam?

Even THAT product struggles to sell. I don't see how the genius cam mouse will survive.

Maybe because that's $79 for a mouse and scanner only, and scanning a document like that seems tedious.
This is a mouse and camera/QR scanner, and it's only $30. I'm not saying it'll sell well, but I think it has a better chance than that scanner mouse.

It's Genius, they have a good idea, bad materials and cheap products. I can't say I'm sure but i think that they will sell this.

In my country there is a rule.

If it's cheap ill buy it even if I would get double quality for a dollar more.

It sound crazy but that's just the thing that 90% of customers do when they come to buy anything.
