AMD Rolls Out the Catalyst 13.10 Beta Driver

At me it work ok...

Hm, they work very well with Natural Selection 2. Donno if they did any general improvements, but i didn't get any laggy feel yesterday while i was playing it. I like these Cat's.

Still no Crossfire support for Rome Total War 2. What a shame.
This is why I hate AMD's Crossfire...

manually enable it? that options been there a long time

Come across my first bug in the 13.10 betas.

Played saints row The Third:-
Closed out, noticed windows Aero is in basic mode, yet the GPU is stuck at full speed as if under load.
Checked GPU-Z, GPU appeared to be still running under load.
Half a minute later windows aero pops up and GPU goes into idle mode.

This did not happen when I played GRiD 2 or Warframe.

No need for irony. CrossfireX is broken in Rome II for 5870/5850 cards. I've got even lover fps when the Crossfire is enabled.

I run two 7970's in crossfire, and on dx9 games, they crossfire fine. On benchmarks they crossfire fine. On DX11 games, since 13.10 beta, especially on Battlefield 3 and Metro Last Light, one gpu will be at 16x3.0 and one will be stuck at 16x1.1

I should add I also run Windows 8

6800k iGPU seems to be getting worse with the new driver. Guess APU users shouldn't try out these new drivers.

No wonder games don't get enough attention if such ridiculous rumors are spreading around. It was well alive before the latest DX11 update and now it's even more popular. From my experience far mora than even CS:S or CS:GO, though many will say i'm making it up. People are playing it in the morning, afternoon, evening, hell i was playing it at 3 AM CET time and the servers were crowded. UK, French, German and Russian servers.

Sure there are certain things to get fixed, but frankly, CS:S is still the same rubbish as it was on day one. Same for CS:GO. Even after countless updates that should improve things.

The thing is, NS2 is a VERY complex game and people who like CounterStriek and similar games just won't pick it up because it's too complicated for them. So many upgrades, so many classes, so many tricks and tactics, unique interaction between players and commander, blend of FPS and RTS, base building etc. I'm playing it for almost 12 hours a day for the last 2 weeks and i'm barely getting the hang of it. But when you do, it's so rewarding and really awesome feeling.

Anyway, yeah a bit OT, but i hope it will improve things a bit. The graphics are spectacular otherwise, it's just that framerate is sometimes a bit choppy.

Glad to hear it is less laggy. Everyone I have talked to says use dx9 until the devs iron out some bugs with dx11.

Wait, NS2 was dead (literally only dozens were playing it lol). Devs had killed it with the terrible patches. Has it been revived?

OT, sorry.
Dozens... Pshh... Always had a few hundred.

Anyone else got flashing textures in Rome 2, Saints Row 4 and Warframe??

Strange Performance Results

I've updated from the 13.6 to 13.10 and all of my performance tests have shown a DRAMATIC increase in performance. Hell i even ran Windows Exp. and it bumped up 2 points in 2d and 3 points in 3d gaming.... :wtf:

Just bringing this up so if anyone facing the same problem as me can read my finding and some solution.

First of all, I have a big problem when using 13.9, 13.8 BETA, or 13.10 BETA with my Sapphire HD7790 Dual-X. The problem is when I run 3D application the GPU clock is always stuck at 300 Mhz. Tried to find the solution on the internet but didn't found any and surprised that I'm not alone in this one (just try to Google : "7790 300 Mhz").

I tried a lot of solutions such as :
1. clean install any AMD related drivers
2. disabling ULPS
3. reverting my card clock back to default (1075/1600, I used to clocked it at 1200/1600)
4. updating my mobo's BIOS (tried 3 version 1,6 ; 1,7 ; 1,8)
5. do a clean install using a spare HDD

ALL of these steps FAILED, still stuck at 300 Mhz when running 3D application.

And then I tried something different : playing with power limit (PL).
When I said I reverted my card to default clock I changed the PL to +20% and 0%, all of it FAILED to solve the problem (still stuck at 300 Mhz).

Proof :
0% : http://i.imgur.com/aY4MEbQ.png
20% : http://i.imgur.com/2ihhsrj.png

And then I tried to move the slider to +1%, fired up GPU-Z render test and VOILA the problem disappear :D : http://i.imgur.com/eyj3fQF.png

I keep trying upping the PL, 2,3,4,5,6,7%, all goes fine but when at 8% the annoying bug is coming back. So for my card the save range is +1-7%.

That's it. If you're facing the same problem as I, I suggest try upping your PL to some value that higher than 0% and then try found the maximum value until the bug coming back.

Thanks for reading :D
