This is my humble rendering machine..
1080 Plusview to TX1050B "conversion".. Sorta.. more as it should have been in the first place.

The 1080Plusview was a great case.. virtually indestructable.. Good looks.. for awhile
Then it all wore off.. got copied over and over..

Additionally, I never liked the gaudy fan embellisment in the window, nor the fact that then front vents were bulky..
then Antec came out with the TX1050B.. now that is a sexy case!

However, they removed the two 80mm exhausts and replaced it with a horrid 120mm..
To add insult to injury, they double hinged the front door, then removed the window and put two
awful holes in the side (with a monstrosity of air tunnel inside), dual latches (grow that third hand yet?)
and PAINTED it flat black. *sheesh*

So I went to work making my basic version of what I thought the case should look like..

Using a new TX1050b, and my old 1080Plus view, I created this.
I gutted the 1080, popped the rivets and powdercoated the inside gloss black, the outside a textured black..
However, because of primer they used, the gloss didn't bake properly.. I'll have to hit it harder with the blast next time
Shouldn't be a problem I figure, the case is pretty stout.. but on that note, has anyone blasted the crap
out of one yet? Any warping?)

Anyway, after accepting defeat on the inside powder, I undid and stuck on one of the side panels I got from directron.com
(I think it was originally designed for the Cheifmax ver of the 1080..)

Then I modified the front bezel off the TX to fit on the 1080PlusView frame. That was grueling work. Don't try this at home..
Seriously.. it was a peice of cake.. the mic led me to conclude that all the post holes had to simply be drilled out to 7/32
and the lower most left hand hole had to be relocated 1/3 of an inch straght up. I just decided to drill that out to 3/4 of
an inch.

Then it was simply a matter of tossing in the CCFLS and Inverters (4" B/G) in the front bezel and snapping it into place.
Run some wires, drop a 4" blue ccfl behind the mobo under the cpu.. The green 6" at the bottom and some colored casefans here and there.

Over all, it cleaned up pretty nice.. the only things I'm waiting on are a 3pin y splitter, some new sleeving (I went from a cable managed PSU
[neo he] to this one.. big mistake..) and my glass side. I have a good company here who can duplicate almost anything in glass, and since I can't
stand lexan either, It's gonna go bye bye and be replaced with real glass. (as all my case mods, customer or for me, are)

So here's a pretty simple mod, took about 2 days, and I think the end result is pretty stunning...

All I need now is suggestions for a nice window etching, no... no biohazard logos. Please ;-P Also, any suggestions on what to do about that totally
unnecessary double hinged front door? I have about 3 minutes of experience working with plastics.. so any nifty ideas would be appreciated.
