Today, BitFenix is proud to officially announce Phenom, the newest creation from the BitFenix Design Lab. Featuring clean, uncluttered styling and tremendous build flexibility, Phenom represents the perfect marriage of advanced functionality with next-level SFF design for a case that's sure to be an instant classic.

Engineered to be a sleek modern cube design that suits any environment, fans of clean and elegant chassis are going to feel right at home with Phenom. The mesh accents along the sides of the case perfectly complement the smooth surfaces of the SofTouch-coated top and front panels. In the center is a highly-polished BitFenix logo that contrasts the subtle matte contours perfectly, creating a design that is ideal for any modern décor. And because different systems have different requirements, Phenom comes in both mini-ITX and micro-ATX variants to meet the needs of an even larger group of users.

Phenom Mini-ITX: Superior Water Cooling and Massive Storage
Compatible with mini-ITX motherboards, Phenom Mini-ITX is a case that's ideal for both water cooling enthusiasts and storage mavens. The top intake easily accommodates thick radiators up to 240 mm in length. The easy-to-use FlexCage can store up to five 3.5" hard disks or SSDs, or removed entirely to accommodate long graphics cards up to 330 mm in length, or additional water cooling on the front panel. Along with the included 5.25" drive adapter and additional mounts on the side panel and PSU cage, Phenom can support up to six 3.5" hard disks, or an incredible 11 SSDs. Five fan locations and room for tower CPU coolers up to 175 mm in height make Phenom Mini-ITX ideal for air coolers. If either extreme cooling or maximum storage in minimal space is on the SFF wish list, Phenom Mini-ITX is a perfect choice.

Phenom Micro-ATX: Micro ATX Compatible and Dual Graphics Ready
With full support for micro-ATX motherboards, Phenom Micro-ATX brings with it five PCI slots for enhanced expansion capabilities. For an intense gaming rig, install dual graphics cards such as SLI or Crossfire for tremendous graphics performance. The removable hard drive rack accommodates up to two 3.5" hard drives or three 3.5" SSDs. The bottom panel can either be equipped with exhaust fans, or up to two additional 3.5" hard disks. Should you opt to install hard disks on the bottom of the case, the included magnetic heat shield prevents warm exhaust from the PSU from re-entering the case, and with its uniquely micro-textured surface, looks great doing it. With a single graphics card installed, the top panel can even fit slim radiators, such as the increasingly popular all-in-one water coolers up to 240 mm in length. For air coolers, five fan locations and support for CPU coolers up to 160 mm in height ensure a frosty system. Have added expansion cards? Then the Phenom Micro-ATX is for you.

Both BitFenix Phenom Mini-ITX and Phenom Micro-ATX will be available on store shelves in October.

"the windows for prodigy will fit the ITX versions

the MATX version will likely not have a window option. if you look at the pictures for it, you will see the storage mounting beam which would negate any point in having a window."

Seems a bit of an odd move by Bitfenix, seeing it is a direct competitor of their own Prodigy. The internals are very similar (at least for the mATX version), but we have to reserve judgement until the pricing is known.
Does anyone know how you can access the 5.25" bay from the outside, or is it just there for bay reservoir placement?
Go to the Bitfenix website for photo's of the mATX version btw.

Pricing is identical to Prodigy.

I assume they did this because everyone asked for a prodigy case that doesnt have stupid looking handles, and wobble about on said handles. They listened to the M-ATX crowd, now they're listening to the others.

Also, a different design for people who have a preference for a more elegant style. You could also say that it doesn't have handles.

Included is a 5.25" to 3.5"or 2.5" adapter.

Thanks for the heads up!
But does that mean that the 5.25" bay is solely for internal mounting?

Look carefully at the front face of the case when you look at the side orientated picture. There is a crack between the top face and front face, leading me to believe the front either opens like a door, or it simply comes off if you actually need to put a DVD drive behind there.

There's no "crack" It's just a line where top and front panel come together. The only reason the 5.25 mount is there is because its a left over from the prodigy and they didn't want to redesign the inside. I guess if you take the front off, the slot will still be there, but bf said it was for internal 5.25 which ofcourse is stupid and people will remove it first thing they do so they can put bigger coolers in.

NnnnnnnnnIIICE! Bitfenix. I like it a lot. They are hammering in the right direction. :D I don't mind more of the same layout with a little bit of different outlook. Go go go BitFenix! Make something low-profile as well please, but not too low-profile ;)

Or, use it as a NAS and keep all the drive cages in and an extra one from the internal 5.25.

With some minor tweaks, the mATX version could be a great performing air-cooling case.

-Flip the PSU 90 degrees and route the power cord and PSU cables along the sides.

-Get rid of the 3.5" bay on top

-Add fan holes in the front (above the PSU) for either 2 x 80mm or 2 x 92mm fans, whichever would fit, so air is forced directly over BOTH GPUs (instead of just the top) from front to back.

same as prodigy?

Is it me or is the main body of the case the same exact thing as Prodigy? Looks like the top and front can be interchangeable with the Phenom. I own a Prodigy, and the hinges/latches/holes look the same.

Did BF drill new holes for the feet? My Prodigy case is not in front of me at the moment, but I don't remember there being any screw holes underneath the case to allow case stands or feet
