TechPowerUp announced GPU-Z 0.7.4, the latest version of the popular PC graphics subsystem information, monitoring, and diagnostics utility. Version 0.7.4 introduces support for several of the recently launched, and upcoming high-end graphics chips, including Radeon R9 290X, Radeon R9 290, and Radeon R9 270; from AMD's stable, and the GeForce GTX 780 Ti from NVIDIA. Among the other chips supported from the two, include the Radeon HD 8280, HD 7310; and GeForce GT 635, and Quadro K3100M.

GPU-Z 0.7.4 also introduces a number of fixes, including accuracy in reporting release date of the Radeon R9 280X, die-size of AMD "Tahiti," ROP counts on Intel "Haswell" and "Ivy Bridge" IGPs. The new GPU-Z also lets you extract video BIOS from AMD Radeon cards even without any driver for the GPU being installed. The mini stress-test that clogs the PCIe bus interface, forcing it to run at maximum possible speeds (thereby giving you an accurate picture of the PCIe configuration), can now be paused by left-clicking the stress render window. A few rare crashes with systems running Intel IGPs, were addressed.

  • Added support for NVIDIA GTX 780 Ti, GT 635, Quadro K3100M
  • Added release date for AMD R7 260X, R7 250, R7 240
  • Fixed release date for AMD R9 280X
  • Fixed die size for AMD Tahiti
  • Fixed ROP count on Ivy Bridge and Haswell
  • Fixed BIOS saving not working on AMD cards without driver
  • Fixed some rare crashes on systems with Intel VGA
  • Render Test can be paused by left-clicking into window

I have a Gigabyte GT620. When overclocking the gpu, gpu-z shows twice the overclock. What I mean. GT620 is coming at 700MHz. By overclocking to 800MHz gpuz reports 900MHz gpu clock speed. But in sensors tab it reports the correct 800MHz speed. Also in sensors it reports the memory speed as half the speed.
This is also the case with version 0.7.3.

I must say, despite being a member of the forums for almost a year. And following the website for how long before I register as a user, (I don't remeber) and checking it at the very very least once per day, I still don't use the GPU-Z. I feel more comfortable with nVidia Inspector, dunno why.

Is Nvidia Inspector better than GPU-Z?

Didn't know Nvidia Inspector could do the same

GPU-Z, I don't know why anyone would use anything else! To each, their own, however the best should be for all, e.g. GPU-Z.

Thanks guys for constantly working to make this better, and better, and better!!

Thanks for update, great job as always :toast:

I use both and I found that both GPU-Z and NVIDIA Inspector are the best for their own purposes.

GPU-Z for simple or quick information and monitoring for both AMD or NVIDIA cards, and NVInspector for tweaking applications/games profiles, sometimes clock profiles and overclocking for NVIDIA cards.

Is Nvidia Inspector better than GPU-Z?

Didn't know Nvidia Inspector could do the same

Let me give you a glimpse of what NVIDIA Inspector can do with a single screenshot :

Device information + overclocking & overvolting (if supported) + clock profiles + applications/games profiles + hardware monitoring, all in one tools.

Too bad there's no AMD/Radeon Inspector :D

I gotta say that 0.7.3 and 0.7.4 both crash after a few seconds on my Acer Aspire V3-571G.
i7-3632QM + Intel HD4000
8GB RAM
NVIDIA GT730M
All kinds of other BS in it.
It's running a 64-bit windows 7 ultimate SP1. Anybody else with a similar problem?

RadeonPro has a good set of functions, but the UI is too cluttered for my liking :D

So?
That's your own personal taste then...

Yup 0.7.3 and 0.7.4 crash for me too on my laptop with Optimus HD3000+525M. Latest nvidia and intel drivers. Was hoping for a fix but it didnt come, there was some previous version that worked okay, or it might be related to the new drivers somehow.

Turns out that power saving modes/optimus turn off the PCI-E bus and when GPU-Z tries to read it it crashes.

Well, it sure took you guys long enough... Apparently, new AMD cards don`t warrant a update to you guys, just nVidia... which already red the correct specs to begin with...

It was more complicated to get it working for 290 Series. Reviewers had test builds early enough. If you have a device that's not supported, you can contact me any time to get a pre-release build.

Fair enough, thanks for clearing that up, I get carried away when I see thing that just don't click for some reason. I do hope (if's it as good as they claim especially), to see a Mantle tick-box in GPU-Z one day.

that's a good idea, but first they have to release it :)
