Here's the first picture of an AIC partner-branded GeForce GTX 780 Ti graphics card, by Gigabyte in this case. The card appears to stick to NVIDIA's reference board design, which is practically indistinguishable from the standard GTX 780 and GTX TITAN, except for the special markings. Specifications of the card appear to be consistent with older leaks. Based on the 28 nm "GK110" GPU, the GeForce GTX 780 Ti features 2,880 CUDA cores, 240 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 3 GB of memory. Its core is clocked at 876 MHz, with a maximum GPU Boost frequency of 928 MHz. The memory is clocked on par with the GTX 770, at 7.00 GHz, churning out a stellar 336 GB/s memory bandwidth. NVIDIA is reportedly targeting a $699.99 price-point with the GTX 780 Ti, which would be $150 costlier than AMD's Radeon R9 290X.

As much as I like the idea of a fully fledged GK110 chip I can't stop thinking about how nvidia is so damn attached to its performance crown that it's bringing the company image on a silly level.

I mean they are getting spanked in every performance tier and all they think about is releasing another silly expensive card to get back at any cost that performance crown?

Don't get me wrong, Titan was a boon to people who wanted a cheap compute CUDA card but that's all there.

I can't really see this 780 ti having much success at the rumored price point now that custom R9 290X will come out.

This thing needs to be 570 usd tops to be relevant.

Nvidia prices their cards because people will buy them regardless. If people do not like their prices, don't buy their cards.

the price for the 780Ti could be fair IMO if it kicks the shit out of the Titan and 290x, but....

Hi

very good card wonnderfull GPU..

336 GB/s memory bandwidth Damn * Monster

The memory is clocked on par with the at 7.00 GHz GOOD Memory Speed

why 699 $ very very expensive $150 costlier than AMD's Radeon R9 290X.

how much faster than R290X really worthwhile this GPU

but i just love nVIDIA GPUS with any power and any price

Don't worry we might see custom models from the partners with an additional 3GB for an extra $100 :banghead:

Nvidia also have no reason to seriously hobble this card so the partners might be able to do all sorts of weird things (Classified & Lightning). So we could get a 6GB Classified at what, $750-$800..... Pfft.

Gimme a 290X Lightning under water - that's the combo I'd like to see own.

AMD R9 290's FTW this is what makes me happy. Nvidia another high price,... this thing should be at max $500, geforce gk110 was always meant to be $500 and less.

Not really. Current GPUs regardless of which one, you will need multi GPUs. 290x Titan, you need atleast 2 to run at 4k with good frames.

20nm GPUs will be a lot better for 4k. Everytime a new node size comes out, theres a lot bigger performance increases, then going from what we have now. Sitting at 28nm. Only so much more performance can be squeezed out of that silicon.

Price is very disappointing. GTX 780 is still priced too high and now this... Only can hope for future price drops when Nvidia realises they aren't competitive enough.

The only real thing stopping the 290(X) range getting 10's is the cooler. Nvidia dropped their 780 price significantly. Tech Report confirmed this was the delay for the 290(non X) release. AMD altered the driver to get the fan speed up to increase clocks.
The custom cards will wait to see how the 780Ti does. Then the 780 Ti, if/when matched by custom 290 solutions will HAVE to take a price hit.

NOBODY buy a 780Ti....... Make Nvidia drop that price when they realise the premium cost isn't going to wash anymore.

Yes, I'm siding with AMD here.

LOL, it took AMD a bold move to lower the whole market's prices to a more human level... than, shortly after, it took nVidia just a running spit dick move to get them to ridiculous levels again. Not a sight you see too often in the corporate world, but it's like angels and devils right now...

Situation is dire for nVidia. They get kicked in the bottom and middle,so their race is only one, pursuing performance crown.

Because BRAND IMAGE is what company does my friend :)
So for ordinary people, average Joe and regular Jane whom bought their pre-build computer at Wal Mart or Home Depot, can get the fastest graphic card for them.

"Gee...nVidia is the fastest card in the world.I bet this GT210 will surely smack R9 290X"...

you guys just lookin at perfomance/price (fps..)

but i think nvidia card are more build quality than amd at this momment. exemple, compare amd fan/heatsink and nivida fan/heatsink. i like more the nvidia fan cause it perform well with the heat the card produce and u dont really need after market fan like amd card need.

just for the fan i dont care pay more and get good build quality. i think it worse the money. but ya a bite on the expensive side

Really? I wouldn't know dire, last time I checked Nvidia still has around 60% market share while AMD at 40%, and they have a much larger profit margins than AMD. And GTX650TI Boost is still the most cost efficient card right now.

So, no sir, situation isn't dire as you say, but I wouldn't expect you to understand any of this, you had your sights fixed coming here and troll nvidia regardless of any reason. Boy is it me or has AMD fanboyism really grown thesedays? where have they been hiding for the past several months? O right, in their caves.

I'll be getting two EVGA 780ti cards if the specs are good enough, otherwise I'll pick up a couple classified cards and overclock the heck out of them. AMD hasn't done anything special at all, reference cards are generally an indicator for how well the aftermarket ones overclock and the heat/noise will still be an issue even with better coolers. You never see such a drastic increase from reference to aftermarket with nVidia cards, it's bad.

nVidia also isn't in any "dire" position, they are dominating the market. They command a higher premium and people gladly pay it because their software, drivers and features are always ahead of the curve. They also scale better with AMD CPUs (which is hilarious btw) and SLI is far superior to CF with multiple GPUs (which is the primary reason I'm not considering AMD for my next build at all when I'll normally at least look at them).

Is the card cheap? No, but it's not supposed to be. If you can't afford a $3-5k build then you aren't getting one anyway, and if you can then what's an extra couple hundred bucks. This is the first time I'll have ever spent more than 2-3k on a computer and it's a lot of money, but I've worked really hard to establish my career the past 5 years and this is a treat to myself for all that work. Also, for a card that is fully enabled (even Titan isn't) with still massive overclocking headroom and even higher memory clocks...$700 is a bargain compared to $1k. Wait until you see the superclocked ones that come with ghz clock speeds combined with the 25% more cuda cores, it's going to be nuts.

I can't wait to put two in my system and overclock a korean PLS to 120hz at 1440p :toast:

You need to comprehend my post earlier. What i mean as NOW.I didn't incorporate any economic concern, that's useless on tech site in my opinion. So if you want to brag nVidia had a bigger market, you shouldn't quoting my post, cause i don't see it related.

It's not that hard to spot nVidia is in trouble, otherwise they still charging $1000 for Titan, playing golf all the time and swimming in Hawaii beach.No...they opt to release full fledged GK110 and adjusting their top SKU prices. To what purpose?Well if you don't know,AMD is starting on nVidia nerve lately.

Please, don't use the word "fanboyism".I'm a grown man that don't deserve to be called a boy.I choose what i like, not just about speed it's about taste and preference. If you like to point out that my post earlier is one sided, you may check and quoted ALL my previous post. Two sides of a coin, neither are better than the others. It's just inappropriate way to judge people as a caveman if they choose contradictory.

Back to topic,if you do know nVidia so well please elaborate why they releasing GTX 780Ti?

huh

Reading all these responses. I'm no fan of any brand I just want my money's worth.. GCN is lasting the GPUs much longer with performance increases on every card since release(is it 2 years ago now? since HD7xxx has been out since gtx5xx, so current AMD GPUs survives 3 GTX generations). I'm interested in 3 Things at the moment:

Mantle(performance impact/improvement over current APIs)
TrueAudio(depth of immersion)
G-Sync (I will be looking out for a G-Sync hack/mod with current nvidia version for AMD GPUs, not really for a AMD alternative)

Really curious about what these 3 things can do for the market at the pricepoint the cards is released. We can expect a "refurbished" version of the R9 and R7 end of next year.. Maxwell will be out and priced competitively, AMD will drop the price of these current "new" cards, they will still look attractive for price/performance. Maxwell will perform 5-8% better than these cards and be priced 20-35% more. (due to AMD Pricecuts).

If nVidia brings out maxwell on a smaller fabrication then nvidia can safely price the maxwell chips competitively with these cards. AMD however will be working on "smaller" fabrication as its time to rejuvenate their current lineup.

Wait until you see the superclocked ones that come with ghz clock speeds combined with the 25% more cuda cores, it's going to be nuts.

Ah, you talking about changes or bump from Titan/GX780Ti. First from a Titan that has 2,688 Cudas, this full flege GK110 is about 7-8% increase to a 2,880 Cuda part. Clock jumps about 5-6% respectively. While this new GTX780Ti has memory clocked and subsequent Bandwidth jump is 17% from either Titan or the leaner GTX780 it more a boon to off-set the 3Gb drop in total memory.

For Nvidia to get close to the 1Ghz mark is a 15% increase to the Titans' Boost Clock of 878Mhz, I think would push the power consumption to look more into the range of a R9 290X. As it is the 6% jump in Boost clock and running the 7.0Ghz is going to increase power usage so we’ll need to see where the power number come in and if the made PCB improvements to the power section.

I think if you didn’t like the power and heat of Hawaii, you might not care for what a GK110 is like if fully un-leashed.
