EK Water Blocks, Ljubljana based premium water cooling gear manufacturer, is proud to introduce ASUS Maximus VI Formula, premium 4th generation Intel Core motherboard with stylish thermal armor, a Z87 Express based premium 4th generation Intel Core LGA-1150 socket motherboard.

EK-FB KIT ASUS M6F water block kit is a complete liquid cooling solution for ASUS Maximus VI Formula motherboard. The water blocks directly cools southbridge (PCH) as well as power regulation (VRM / MOSFETs) module and is designed to perfectly blends with the original design by utilizing ASUS original thermal armor plastic cover. It is a high flow water block kit that can be easily used with systems using weaker water pumps.

Base of the water block is made of nickel plated electrolytic copper while the top is made of quality POM Acetal or acrylic glass material (depending on the variant). The screw-in standoffs are already pre-installed and allow for easy and trouble-free installation by utilizing original motherboard steel backplate. This water block kit is available in two visually different versions:
  • EK-FB KIT ASUS M6F - Nickel - 89,95€
  • EK-FB KIT ASUS M6F - Acetal+Nickel - 89,95€

Enclosed:
  • EK-FB KIT ASUS M6F series water block
  • mounting mechanism
  • thermal pads

EK-FB KIT ASUS M6F is readily available for purchase through EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network.

While I do agree that liquid cooling on 1150/1155/1156 motherboards never made sense at least this one isn't aluminium like the stock one is.

EK's nickel plating is worse than the anodized aluminum asus uses so it really is pointless if the added support LEDs or something then I get it but right now it's just an inferior alternative

Can you explain how their nickel plating is worse compared to the ASUS's anodized aluminium? I know they had issues in the past and fixed them but I want more info so I don't end up spending money on something that is no better than the one that came with my board.

I got a nickle plated CPU chipset and VRM block and the chipset and CPU are blackened in the areas where the water flows the chipset one looks the worst though. And so far I only used distilled water

That sucks. Are your stuff still under warranty, if so then you should RMA them. I would really like to snag the Acetal+Nickel block but now I am thinking twice about it. I am also afraid of using the anodised aluminium block that came with the board. Tough decision to make here.

I honestly don't care enough to bother the blocks still cool the way they should and the black doesn't look that bad. Though if you want your nickle block to look like it's made of nickle then EK is definitely not the way to go. BTW asus posted a video of the stock block getting salt water sprayed to prove that it won't corrode.
