Westone, the leader in high performance audio and in-ear monitoring technology, announces the launch of the latest update of their Elite Series of high performance earphones designed by musicians specifically for music professionals and audiophiles.

The E-Series 10, 20, 30 and 50 will provide the most discerning professionals and enthusiasts with the ultimate sound experience. Westone's legendary custom True-Fit technology provides the user with earpieces that are cast, sculpted and polished by hand from actual impressions of the individual's ears, providing the world's best and most comfortable fit and acoustic seal possible. The end result is the best audio performance of any in-ear monitor on the market.

The E-Series features Westone's proprietary balanced armature drivers that are significantly more compact and efficient than traditional dynamic drivers. The ES10 features Westone's latest industry-leading single armature driver that delivers outstanding performance and output. The ES20/30/50 feature multiple balanced armature drivers with multistage crossover designs that yield sonic purity that is unrivaled in universal monitors. The ES50 represents a new standard in premium in-ear technology with five masterfully tuned balanced armature drivers and a three-way crossover that will satisfy even the most critical ear.

Other notable features of the E-Series custom fit in-ear monitors include a two material approach to the monitor design. It consists of a flex canal, a body temperature-reactive, semisoft earpiece canal additive that offers the user increased comfort and acoustic seal for incredible noise isolation, along with a cold-pour acrylic earpiece housing for increased durability and enclosure stability. Westone's Dual Bore technology allows for the IEM's high and low frequency sound components to be channeled through separate passages in the sound port and sum within the user's ear canal instead of the earpiece. This approach results in a more convincing and transparent transition between frequency ranges.

Each E-Series in-ear monitor is supplied with Westone's robust EPIC cable constructed of bifurcated, high-flex, ultra-low resistance tinsel wire, reinforced with a special aramid fiber. The new EPIC cable is removable and attached to the IEM by a single connector allowing for use with other premium cables from Westone. Additional cables will include Apple MFI control and Android control cables which will be available in January.

The E-Series faceplates can be customized with thousands of new colors, materials and design combinations through Westone's online Custom Shop. Unique options range from real abalone shell to sleek carbon fiber faceplates and personalized graphic designs offer the wearer a chance to express his or her rock-star style. Westone will be introducing additional materials for the new ES including exotic woods, laser engraving and additional carbon fiber selections.

E-Series features:
  • ES10: Built to the same exacting standards as all Elite Series monitors, the E10 provides unexpectedly high sound quality from a single driver and up to 25dB of ambient noise reduction.
  • ES20: The dual driver E20 provides exceptional low frequency response, smooth mids and articulate highs with a great balance of full sound.
  • ES30: The E30 is the next generation of a well-balanced three-driver system and is an ideal choice for the performing musician, audiophile and home/field sound engineers.
  • ES50: This earphone is the distinguished leader in the field for on-stage musicians and serious audiophiles, the result of Westone's dedication to developing superb custom in-ear monitors since 1996.

Each E-Series earphone is meticulously built by a staff of dedicated artisans and lab technicians in Colorado Springs, Colorado and truly embodies America's rich history of handmade artistry. Westone is a proud supporter of Hearing Health Foundation and has committed to donate a portion of every earphone sold through 2014 to this organization dedicated to the prevention and cure of hearing loss.

"We've taken big steps with the E-Series that will be appreciated by our musician and audiophile fanbase," said John F. Lowrey, Vice President, Audio Group, Westone. "The new audiophile connector makes the cable solution conveniently user-removable, upgradeable and replaceable. We also enhanced the specialized "warm" sound signature Westone is known for. We consider the new ES50 the pinnacle for custom in-ear comfort and sound."

Actually... yes. :)
Top of the line custom IEMs worth their weight in gold, literally - ~$1500, and they weight 20-25g each.

LE: if you find CIEMs expensive and you're happy with your Skull Candy or Beats, they are not for you :)

Not for me...Just sayin, I love my Full Metal Jackets (FMJ) from Skull Candy. These may be better but, for that price, they aren't.
