Gigabyte to Release a Third WindForce-Cooled GeForce GTX 780 Ti Card

Gigabyte Technology is now preparing the arrival of yet another GeForce GTX 780 Ti model, one codenamed GV-N78TWF3-3GD that features a WindForce 3X 450W cooler, like the GTX 780 Ti Overclock Edition and the GTX 780 Ti GHz Edition, but has 'only' stock clocks - 876/928 MHz Base/Boost for the GPU and 7,000 MHz for the memory.

The upcoming card has an 8+2-phase power design, two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, 2880 CUDA Cores, a 384-bit memory interface, 3 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, and dual-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. No word yet on pricing or a release date.

I really hope those less expensive ones can come close to when overclocked.

I can't find anywhere that is stocking the 780 Ti Ghz or I'd have gotten one already!

The thing about the GE is that it seems to have the gpu/ram binned right at the top of what's realistic for most cards; the ram likely binned around 7764mhz or so to go right along with the 1150mhz clock within the power envelope so it can scale to it's full potential. I would not be surprised if many other cards can also do it, as there seems to a pretty tight tolerance for the ram around 7700-7800mhz (nvidia obviously designed the card this way...no coincidece the ram overclocking coinsides with the voltage/power/yield curve of 28nm ), but man...having that more-or-less out the box (other than the stock ram setting...probably a nvidia green light thing) must be nice!

These companies must be loving them some 780 Ti parts. Guess given the fact that the R9 290/290X will sell no matter how they're packaged since they're not being used for games, it only pays to focus your different coolers and SKU's on the parts being used for gaming and enthusiasts.

I guess it really does hurt for all AMD's GPU's to be bought up for non-gaming purposes.

I think my confusion about this article comes down to the fact that atm the OC version is cheaper than the ref (here anyway), so I dont know what they plan on selling this thing for!

Im probably asking too much, but I feel the cooler could be a little better. Perhaps its because I came from a 670, so it wasnt fully unlocked and the clocks were comparatively slightly less aggressive - maybe the 10 degrees climb for a card of this size that sits around 1,180 while gaming is perfectly acceptable. It is a beast.

Probably because we see the same windforce 3x 450W cooler on their GTX 770 and all their GTX 780 Ti models. It seems like an overkill for 770, but I don't know how thermal densities of GK104 and GK110 compare.
