Cooler Master HybridFlow Case Fan Pictured

Hybrid-impeller fans are the rage again, following its launch by ASUS in its DirectCU Mini line of graphics cards. Cooler Master launched a case fan based on the same concept of an impeller with both lateral and axial flow blades, called HybridFlow. Unlike in a graphics card, where air flowing laterally has an escape through the rear panel, a case fan typically doesn't, and so Cooler Master designed the frame of the fan to funnel lateral flow outside (or wherever the fan's airflow is directed at). For now, HybridFlow comes in just the one size - 120 mm. Depending on how it's received, Cooler Master could try out other sizes.

I don't get it. It worked on cards because it was recessed into the fins. Seems like it would be ineffective here.

Looks like a 92mm fan in a 120mm frame.

yeah me too, and its ugly too. air penetrator much better than this one
although those fins would improve airflow i just think people would use standard fan than tis one

I don't understand. I want to believe.
Are coolermaster just spontaneously releasing products for the sheer fun of it?
Teach me oh wise tech wizzards, how in god's green earth is this supposed to work better than a normal fan in a PC case?
Also it's not 120mm, looks way smaller.

The idea is to give a wide airflow feild , It would be pretty limited use though in case IMO . Be good for something like side fan that goes over MB but your not looking for high airflow .
I don't think you would want these for main intake or exhaust fans but more internal fan .

It says "funnel lateral airflow" like a graphics card so I am guessing it pulls from a wider area of air not dead center. Maybe good with something obstructing airflow. I dont see how this would be better than a normal fan.
