NVIDIA's upcoming high-end graphics card, the GeForce GTX TITAN Black, scored its first listing by an online store. Finnish store Multitronic Webshop listed it for €974.90 (including all applicable taxes). The store mentions the pre-tax price at €786.21, which converts to roughly US $1071. These prices confirm the theory that the GTX TITAN Black is being designed to replace the current GTX TITAN from its $999 (pre-tax) price-point. The current GTX TITAN has been cannibalized by the GTX 780 Ti at gaming, and the only two straws it's been clutching onto are 6 GB of memory, and full double-precision floating point GPGPU performance.

The GeForce GTX TITAN Black is a maxing out of the feature-set of the GK110 silicon. It features the full complement of CUDA cores at 2,880 - same as the GTX 780 Ti - but also features full double-precision floating point GPGPU performance, and 6 GB of standard memory amount, which could help in 3DVision Surround, and 4K Ultra HD display setups. Other vital specs of the GPU include 240 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface. There's no word on its clock speeds, but we expect it to be either on par with, or slightly higher than those of the GTX 780 Ti.

What do I do now when I sell kidneys to buy the first edition TITAN. this is too expensive for my health AMD please give us R290x with 8 GB of ram for the normal price! I feel so RAPE t
Cost of production is less than 50 € processor cover is the most expensive part that costs 2 $ How much can then cost the frame. Says ferari cost much more Nvidia qadro 6000 5k so as not to confound please playing card is not pro card !Otherwise, a good tactic to justify price!

well, this is why people should just stick to buying things they can actually afford, instead of whining pointlessly over every forum that they are somehow entitled to own every absolute niche product they come across.
they are called niche product for a reason.

I mean, sure, it'd be pretty neat to own one of those Ferraris or even buy one of those Louis Vouiton or Hermis handbag for my wife, I can't afford it so I settle for a Toyota and a night out at the movies. but I don't go around every sportscar or whatever luxury forums and whining about how I'm going to have to sell my left arm or my firstborn to buy it.

This. Since the card has full GPGPU performance of a GK110 it is not that bad.

yeah this is a bit like the 8800Ultra. Ridiculous price for not that much of a performance increase. The 780ti will be easily able to match and surpass this for $300 less. The regular 780, when over clocked to the max, may even be able to touch it for $500 less.

Well, it's an Asus product, and they do have "Black" Edition branded products, like the Rampage III Black Edition (LGA1366) and the more recent Rampage IV Black Edition (LGA2011) motherboards. Could be just an Asus exclusive...

Of course there are other things that carry the "Black Edition" moniker. There are also AMG Tuned Mercedes-Benz cars that have this moniker. I play UT3 Black Edition quite regularly. It doesn't mean that Asus could not have a Titan Black Edition exclusive. "Could" is the operative word here. But since GPUZ has the Titan BE "on file" then this means Wizz is already testing it :)

With 4K being the upcoming thing, it would be nice if Nvidia would start putting two DisplayPort outputs on their cards and stop wasting space on dual DVI. Currently only DP 1.2 can handle 4K@60Hz.

I'm sure you won't whine when it comes to nvidia article even nvidia charges you with over 100000000k dollar

Another unrealistic price gouging story from nvidia. However, i believe nvidia's supporters or fans wont have any single problem with the price scheme though it's still rumoured.

Yeah at least with gpgpu computing enabled, adding more vram and painted in black color will attract enthusiast gamers to buy this 1071$ card

The endless whining about prices is stupid so please stop. If you can't afford it, can't justify it... or flat out aren't interested, it doesn't matter.

There is a market for such cards and there always be will be, no one is holding a gun to anyone's head forcing people to buy anything.

Titan Black is clearly the GK110's last hurrah and was always realistically going to happen at some stage.

Goodbye Kepler, you have served countless people proud, and brought on endless tears.

You'll be missed.

Fluffmeister, you are the voice of reason in a world of insanity - for half the money, a 780 will get you 90% of the performance of the worlds best single GPU solution, that's the sweet spot now, everything else is for vanity, unless you actually NEED more power, then it's more feasible to SLI two 780s for the price of 1 Titan of whatever color. The Titan is for those on unlimited budgets, less than 1% of all system builders.

I simply don't whine, period, leave that for the kids. I exercise controlled spending and understand market distribution, and buy things within my capability, though kids will be kids, so I won't except you to understand any of this.
