BIOSTAR has released the "Hi-Fi A88S3+" motherboard based on the new AMD FM2+ socket design that will support AMD Multi-Core (x4, x2) socket FM2+/FM2 processors AMD A-series/ E2-series processors.

Using the AMD A88X chipset, the Hi-Fi A88S3+, featuring Puro HiFi audio technology, brings 4 DIMM slots supporting DDR3 RAM. It uses the newest SATA 6 Gb/s bus which is twice the speed of current SATA 3G connections along with USB 3.0. There is also support for AMD Dual Graphics Technology.

The Hi-Fi A88S3+ offers users the 6+ Experience. The first, "Audio+" includes audio features from BIOSTAR which are extensive with the following audio features: 3D Audio, True Blu-Ray Audio, 3D HiFi Amp and 3D Smart Ear.

The "Video+" features support for full HDMI 3D 1080p and the motherboard has a Dual-Link DVI port for resolutions up to 2560x1600.

The "Speed+" features include support for SmartSpeedLAN which is a free software application that monitors and manages your PC's network behavior. There is also Charger Booster is the fastest and most efficient charger solution for apple devices such as iPads and iPhones.

"Protection+" gives the ever important High Quality ESD providing high quality ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) protection for the front I/O panel. This function prevents static electricity and reduces the damage to the motherboard when you are plugging or unplugging your headphones.

"Durability+" gives you 100% solid capacitors with armor-plated Biostar Technology. All capacitors are 100% solid giving a lasting life cycle, durability and stability for crucial components.

Lastly, "DIY+" users are taken care of with BIOSTAR fully supporting the user in many innovative ways such as with UEFI BIOS stands for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) and BIO-Remote 2 which gives users a better Home Theater environment. Rapid Switch 2, engineered by BIOSTAR, is an onboard switch that allows you to easily shut down and restart your system and Rapid Debug 2 is an onboard LED indicator that shows 6 kinds of messages: CPU power, MB power, CPU, memory and PCI-E, SATA for error states.

Because then you wouldn't buy one of Biostar's more expensive motherboards with an intelligent slot arrangement.... :p

show me any FM2+ matx board then, not just biostar with an intelligent slot arrangement :p except for AsRock's. They're intelligent enough not to include a vrm sink to what could have been, the board which will suit my needs.

Same problem with the slot arrangement:

PCI Express x16
PCI Express x1
PCI
PCI Express x16 (wired as PCIE x4)

You can't get 2 dual-slot video cards on the motherboard when it's mounted in a micro-ATX case. If they swapped places with the PCI slot and the second PCIE x16 slot, it would work fine (except for the miserly x4 bandwidth...). Only ASRock seems to have thought about this (with just 3 boards), and even theirs are wired as x4 in the second full-sized PCIE slot.

"Optimized For Multiple Graphics Cards"

As long as your second card is a single-slot design. Also, the second x16 slot is only PCIe 2.0 x8. Apparently, it isn't for serious gaming....

Oh, but I am looking at the image -- of the bare motherboard:

PCIe x16
PCIe x1
PCIe x1
PCIe x16

With dual-slot video cards, the slot usage would be:

Video card #1
Overhang
PCIe x1
Video card #2
?

The second video card has no room for its overhang in a micro-ATX chassis. Either that or MSI plugged it into a PCIe x1 slot, resulting in a wee bit of bandwidth constraint. :wtf:
