Razer, the world leader in entertainment devices and software, today announced a new feature for Razer Game Booster that automatically saves game data and settings to the cloud for thousands of titles. In its beta version, Razer Game Booster's Save Game Manager will back up a user's game progress to Dropbox. Other cloud storage services will be enabled in the program's full release.

Save Game Manager is compatible for games with local save files and it supports fully automated backup services for more than 2,000 titles. The list of supported games can be continuously updated by Razer's software engineering team as new titles are released and users may manually add games, ensuring that every supported game works with the Save Game Manager.

"We continually work to enhance the gaming experience for our Community," says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder, CEO and creative director. "There are few things that take the fun out of gaming more than lost game progress or disappearing settings. It is our hope to rid the world of such frustrations and help make sure that losing game info never happens again."

"Oh! UPS services aren't gonna be ran during gaming...." *power goes out* *game progress gone*

"Oh antivirus bad while gaming" *gets infected and looses game saves and games*

"Oh let's close the browser that had 20 walkthrough tabs that took you forever to find! You don't need that!" *closes browser tabs making CPU spike and player gets killed and has to refer to walkthrough again to get back*

This would annoy the pisss outta me!

What shitty UPS will not provide battery power if its service isn't running?

APC does not function like that. You just have no idea the charge on the battery (if there is no screen) and no automatic shutdown, sleep, w/e.

sometimes if the service isn't running or working right it will just hard shutdown becuase of "incorrect status". I've had a couple do that to me.

Man, I remember IObit gamebooster 1.6.
It would close off extra services and you could edit its config was simple and easy.

Look at this bloated pile of crap it has become.

What is Razer's premise for doing this? Did anyone actually ask for this?

They just want to get their cloud software on everyone's computer. Maybe the NSA is behind it? lol

EDIT: Even tho I'm hating on it, I do own a few games that don't have cloud sync for the saves and I could see it being useful for older titles or the ones I still own on disk.

Probably not, just like nobody asked Razer for some terrible always-online mouse software (synpase) to save settings and functions, software that creates instability in an otherwise perfectly stable system.

I love my Razer mouse(s) but I dislike their software.

that's why smart people use other mice from decent companies.
I have a g700 from the time it got released and I think it is the best buy I've ever did.
I don't have to check about compatibility with linux/windows/mac/minix/anything else, everything gets stored in the internal memory and I need only to set it up once.

my roommate had a mouse and a keyboard from razer, and I've never seen such an overpriced plastic peripheral which by the way switches to the desktop for no reason during the game and it is a pain in the ass to get it working in a different usb plug.

What is wrong with it?

It just doesn't have a very tactile feeling when scrolling. I can only describe it as a mushy scroll. It scrolls pages just fine tho.
