A member of the OCWorkbench forum has posted a picture of a GeForce 8300GT. The card is rather small and comes with active cooling. The cooler itself looks very old fashion. Odds are that it will retail with a larger, passive heatsink instead. No further details were given, but here is the picture:

UPDATE: Seems like this is actually a Diablotek 7100 card, as they use the same PCB. So this is not a 8300GT. Thanks to Crucible1001 for finding the real card.

Look at how they blurred out the memory chips. I'm pretty sure it's a very clever photoshop of a 9700 or something. Though, that doesn't explain the PCI Express connector...like most rumors, I'll just wait until the thing is actually released.

Yeah it looks like a photoshop, i was curious, since the picture is of such a low quality for its size.

Notice how theres a slight merging line or sommet on the right hand side of the cooler, follow the memory chips left hand edge down, and you will see the blurring / pasting whatever has been done changes the cooler too... Either that or the person has been very lazy and done a rectangular select and blurred that =/.

But hey im not a nVidea fan, im gona wait till the mid range ATI DX10 cards appear, anyone guess how they will compare against a X1950XT in DX9? and is it likely to be good enough for DX10, I also hope the love been overclocked =P

You know, I'm guessing that's a cleverly photoshopped X300/X700/X800. Yeah, an X800GT with the tiny memory chips could easily be that card. Think about the power requirements, think about the heat output, think about the red PCB.... :p.

I am 99% sure that the card is real ;)

Just check out my avatar of the G86. I got more pics of the G86 series -> but not allowed to post them just yet as they are under NDA.

EDIT: On closer look, the smallest card I have a pic of, is a bit longer than this one - so I take those 99% sureness back *LOL*

Very small and REd is a slap to ATI in my book. However, it looks like that would be a nice powerful low range card for DX10 on the cheap.

there's no doubt.. it's a fake.. the official colour for nvidia reference cards is green.. and those blurred memory chips.. mmhh.. it also lacks the SLI connector.. and the 8300gt will have it..

The cooler reminds me of the old Sapphire 9700 and 9800 cards...

Some 7300GT don't have a SLI connector, I think 8300GT will be the same.

Yea I even registered with their site so I could tell them it's fake lol.. there are absolutely no discernable markings on the card anywhere, not even on a diode..lol.. none.. thats just silly.. electronic components have markings, you can not see one single leter on anything on this card anywhere or number.. except that dumb sticker..lol. I zoomed it to 800% and went over it a bunch of times Just to see if I could find any marking at all, even the tiniest number or letter that would let me track down some kind of info, nothing..

The way I see it, this card is one of two things.
  • 1: A very clever joke, meant to trigger replies just like this one. The video card pictured is a low-end Xx00/X1x00 with the details blurred out
  • 2: A very blurred out 8300GT, blurred so the photographer would not get in trouble with the law, considering that the 8300GT is still NDA.
You decide :).

And what does NDA mean?

GOOGLE IT YOU LAZY BUM!...:toast:

NDA

(Non Disclosure Agreement) An agreement signed between two parties that have to disclose confidential information to each other in order to do business. In general, the NDA states why the information is being divulged and stipulates that it cannot be used for any other purpose. NDAs are signed for a myriad of reasons including when source code is handed to another party for modification or when a new product under development is being reviewed by the press, a prospective customer or other party.
