AMD has published price cuts for its desktop processor range with prices falling up to US$200 for high-end Athlon 64 FX-70 series processors. Several products have also been discontinued including the socket AM2-based Athlon 64 FX-64, and the socket 745-based Sempron 3400+ and 3000+. AMD's official website still shows processor pricing effective 20th February 2007, while DigiTimes has the new price cuts chart here.

Any idea when Europe might get those EE versions to stock? Newegg seems to have them, but here's only those hot 89w ones. (not for me, but my father who doesn't overclock :p)

Why discontinue the FX-64? I never knew they even had an FX-64 processor. Better check on that. Oh and Im also giddy with these new price cuts.

Man right now this is really all that AMD has going for them w/ the procs.
My theory is that they bought ATi to make up for the money lost w/ the C2D battle. AMD procs are only good getting now... since FXs are $200 :D
Still an OCed E6300 or even E4300 could PWN these FXs....:nutkick:

They bought ati for a number of reasons, one being that they could have their own platform with their own chipset. C2D isn't killing amd, since the majority of the chips they sell are in budget machines at prices that C2D just cant touch. The high end parts cost the most for the companies to make, and they don't sell nearly as many compared to budget parts. these cuts are pretty awesome, if I hadn't been in need for an upgrade last year, I would be buying myself a cheap X2 3600 right about now.

I got an X2 3600+ and the Biostar TForce550 mobo for $140 - 10 Rebate (2 weeks ago)
Not bad for a system to hold me over for a few months until Barcelona.
Def. well worth it and no complaints.

better by leaps and bounds. Some show as much as 38% difference in X2 3800+ favor.

I think its a typo, it seems they're discontinuing the fx-62 (my cpu) as they have no price for it in the april slot.

I would suggest getting the x2 3800's little brother the x2 3600+ Brisbane Core.
These chips can OC better and become faster than the x2 3800+, plus they are about $20 cheaper :)

Well any help about AMD would help as it would be my first build. Ive stayed Intel/ATI now going to AMD/ATI until the C2D's become much cheaper!
