HighPoint Technologies, a pioneering force in the storage industry for the past 18 years, is launching a series of innovative Linux Driver package for its popular 6Gb/s SATA and AS value RAID HBA Series. For well over a decade, HighPoint has actively supported Linux distributions, continuously seeking to develop new and better solutions for Linux-based storage applications. We have long understood how the complications associated with Software RAID controllers while performing kernel upgrades have pushed customers towards high-price Hardware RAID controllers.
We are proud to introduce our innovative Auto-Compiling driver packages for 6Gb/s SATA and SAS RAID HBA's. Seamless integration and simplified kernel upgrade procedures are now no longer exclusive to high-cost Hardware RAID solutions. Customers will never again have to trade ease of integration for cost-effective RAID storage. HighPoint's Auto-Compiling Linux driver packages are available for Enterprise Linux distributions, and are designed to streamline installation and upgrade procedures; delivering an experience on par with pre-compiled, or embedded device drivers.
Auto-Compiling Linux Drivers: A Novel Solution for a Lingering Problem
Software-RAID or Hardware-Assisted HBA customers are no doubt familiar with the complexity and tediousness of driver compilation. Whenever a kernel is updated or a new system built, an administrator must download driver source and manually compile a new device driver to correspond with the Linux distribution's changes.
Our engineers have crafted a novel solution; specialized software packages analyze the host system to identify the RAID controller and kernel version, and automatically compile a driver for seamless integration.
Once exclusive to full Hardware RAID configurations, Value Series customers can now experience seamless, painless hardware installation.
Automatically Generates Drivers to Match the your system's Kernel
HighPoint's Auto-Compiling Linux Driver packages build device drivers using our conventional open source downloads, but do not require user intervention. The innovative scripting first checks the RocketRAID controller's ID, then cross-references the active kernel version to see if matches existing driver code. If a mismatch is detected, the Auto-Compiling Linux driver will automatically trigger a script that will compile a driver to match the host system kernel for seamless controller integration.
Availability
HighPoint's Auto-Compilation Linux Driver packages will be released publically during the first quarter of 2014, for RocketRAID 6Gb/s SATA and SATA Value RAID HBA's, and will be available for download from each HBA models' Storage Configuration pages. Customers can contact HighPoint Sales or Support directly, and request copies of the Drivers and corresponding product documentation.
