Don't know why we need this news. I want none of this stuff posted as its giving people false speculation. Look, in this attempt probably some brave fanboys made the information up, so they could lower Intel's sales. This happens too much, check Fudzilla's website,
http://www.fudzilla.com/
Most of the information is totally impossible to obtain, as AMD/ATI has stated (officially) that people/companies that have the R600/Barcelona in their hands as an ES are NOT by any means allowed to give any information out relating to the GPU. Like we need news from Fudzilla as 50% of their content is turned down as false, example when the 8600GTS was accidentally released in Australia, fudzilla stated "8600GTS released in Australia". Well as if, it just shows to you most of these websites giving us so called news are heavily reliant on unjustifiable sources (i.e. forums, or imagination).
Bastieeeh should be posting this in the General nonsense as it is nonsensical that the R600 kicks the 8800 and then the next minute it dies in 3DMark 06. Honestly, 3DMark 06 benchmark screens do not mean anything, even an untrained eye can spot out the artifacts of modding the GUI.
The news on TPU is supposed to be for official announcements of new products, new corporations, companies that have gone bankrupt, and forum issues-the news is not a place for tech-gossip, that goes under a different category. Honestly, look, if its not out yet and the source is not cited/contactable, its evident that it is not real-and it cant be considered "news". I will be surprised if we find an article about "R600 benchmarks with conflicting data-rendering them false", its common sense guys.
Now an analysis of the actual article:
Fifty percent faster than Kentsfield
The K10 part codenamed Barcelona is up and running. It's not ready for launch, but AMD has already got parts ready and working.
We don't have many numbers but at least in specfp_rate2000 Barcelona ends up a bit less than 50 percent faster than Intel quad core codenamed Kentsfield.
We are quite sure that this is the best score but it definitely sounds impressive. AMD chaps are very confident that K10 marchitecture and native Quad core is the way to go and Intel will probably have to pay the price for duct taping its chips. AMD will come to collect in second half of 2007.
"We are quite sure" gives away the fact that they arent confident with what they are saying. There is no source cited and the end of it also uses information previously and officially presented. Nevertheless to make it seem more realistic, its instinct to believe something when there is the image of what the people are talking about. And... what score? 50%? Thats like the most important information Intel needs to beat the crap out of AMD, I'm sure no average joe would realise but, very rarely do companies allow such sensitive benchmarks of products before they hit the market. Its literal suicide!
I mean look, if AMD really had such an advantage (we hope so though), Intel would try to beat this, thus upon release of Barcelone AMD’s advantage is nullified.
The lack of sources, illogical information presentation and the fact that AMD has rules regarding to products in development truly makes all this information FUD; i.e. bullshit.
