NVIDIA Rolls Out the GeForce 340.52 WHQL Graphics Driver

NVIDIA today made available a new WHQL-certified graphics card driver, the GeForce 340.52. This release is recommended for Metro: Redux and Final Fantasy XIV, it brings multiple new and updated SLI profiles and allows the streaming of PC games to the just-released SHIELD tablet. The GeForce 340.52 has support for the GeForce 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 and 700 Series cards and for the ION and ION LE GPUs.

If nVidia could one day deliver drivers with the opt-out option of all their bloathware like 3D vision, 3D audio, Shield gadget, Shadowplay and wotnot forever! Then I would praise them a lot more.

Well 3D Vision is needed if you want to use that.

Pretty sure you can just uncheck what you don't want. Been doing that for years. I never install their Audio. And Shadowplay, after using it this past week, its great!

I still have to try it, but I am not in the age of showing my gaming videos to my friends. (Of course, because I am not a mouse-god, and you will always find me in the lower half of the stats pages

Of course, if you need stuff, do not disable it! But I remember the days when english nVidia drivers were 50 mb (international versions were much fatter).
you BF4-heads should record some of your sessions for sure I will watch and have a great time!

Actually I welcome Metro Redux, Metro 2033 using the optimised Last Light engine updates will be awesome.

Back to the driver, nothing else really noteworthy in this set for myself so may just give it a miss . Until I buy Redux that is.

Do I need SLI profiles for a single GTX 780ti? I know this sounds stupid, but being stuck with a radeon 5870 for 4 years, CF profiles were useful for single card configurations as well for some time and I wonder if this applies to the green team as well.

Not sure if you're just trolling, but just in case you aren't, the second stage of the Nvidia GeForce driver explicitly shows you what choices you have when it comes to driver and software components install.

There are no separate SLI profiles to download. SLI profiles are included in the driver.

I hate Geforce experience and I don't install it. I don't want some software messing with my 3D settings or bugging me for some features that I don't use. So do I HAVE to install it to get the SLI profile? That is if I need it for single GPU to start with.

Whilst I agree you shouldn't be forced into installing GeForce Experience just to get SLI profiles, I do not agree so much with the rest of your statement. Geforce Experience will only 'mess' with your settings if YOU want it to. Furthermore, for all the months I have had it installed (I don't really use it, just install it), it has only ever notified me of driver updates (and very rarely updates for itself).

There are some that will be downloaded via GeForce experience but if you install experience they are there.

So you should not worry about it. Also GeForce experience does not adjust games unless you tell it to so you would not have to worry about that.

I dunno whether it is something that has changed with my setup or what not, but since Nvidia fiddled around with the DX11 API in 337.50 drivers, I have began to get what feels like micro-stuttering. Barely noticeable or impacting on game play, but nevertheless is still very distracting in fast-paced competitive FPS (sometimes leads to deaths). Haven't had a chance to install these drivers to see if it disappears, but I don't have high hopes...

What is the point of installing Geforce Experience ?? Bloatware......there should be an option on Nvidia drivers download page: "Download drivers ONLY"
