The Halo franchise may not have any (recent) ties with the PC space but that isn't stopping Microsoft from trying to sell Halo-branded peripherals to the PC crowd. One such piece of hardware is the upcoming Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Halo Limited Edition: The Master Chief, a 1000 dpi ambidextrous mouse with 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity and support for BlueTrack technology (which improves tracking accuracy).

The Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Halo Limited Edition: The Master Chief also features a battery life of up to 8 months, it comes bundled with an USB nano transceiver, and has a three-year warranty. The mouse costs $29.99 and is now available for pre-order with shipments expected to kick off in October.

This seems a bit dumb. There hasn't been a Halo release on PC since Halo 2 (unless you count Halo Spartan assault). It would be like Sony bringing out an Uncharted or Last of Us PC accessory. Microsoft should bring back the Sidewinder line (still rocking an X6 and X8 on my secondary PC). I loved that stuff, and I know many of my friends do too.

I tried one of the wireless bluetrack mouse from Microsoft.

The bluetrack is great on different types of surfaces but sucks on battery life. The 8month claim turned out to be 2months on just office and web browsing. I could get 3 months out of the battery if I turned it off manually when not in use. Which I thought was dumb since it goes into a standby state after a minute or two if you don't move it.

Just glad I tested it first before possibly switching all my PCs to wireless.

If the mouse was a gaming one, one could assume that Microsoft finally thinks PC is ready for some more Halo lovin'. This is probably just testing how the PC market reacts to Halo

As i said above V220 has been good for us how ever it's a small mouse but it don't eat though them like if you were rich.

Software A lot.
Benchmark Scores Its fast. Enough.
Gaysauce for weak minded peasants who think their console is hardcore gaming, there is a reason MS never integrated windows live gaming for consoles and PC's and it cause the PC owners kicked so much ass. I used to love it when friends would bring over their PC's and we would LAN and their feeble attempts to use a controller were always met with death and humiliation. Of course i suffered the same fate for the most part when trying to play on consoles.

Laptop gamers (yes I know, who games on laptops?) appreciate them a lot, its one less wire getting tangled up. The lag is no longer noticeable.

I got a G700 and I use it in wireless mode for games where I don't want the cable to drag me down. I also use it in wireless mode for photoshop for the same reason. Cable drag makes it harder on my wrists for intense stuff.

And who gives a crap about halo anymore?

A mouse Bungee solves drag problems. LOL puns. I dunno i dont't use a bungee because i just get used to the extra force, muscle memory i guess.

Don't know why, but when I saw the ad for this at Gamestop in tandem with some Xbox One preorder stuff (because Gamestop continues to push hard for people to buy Xbox One's while virtually ignoring PS4 as they sell out fast enough already) I immediately thought, "Huh. Wonder if this means MS is going to actually announce something Halo-ish for PC."

See, I haven't forgotten that when they showed off the Xbox One controller running on Windows back before E3, they showed it running Halo 2 on Windows 8.1. Nothing showed up at E3 and so I kinda forgot about it, but then I was reminded again with this, but I figured the whole thing must be something Halo-branded that Gamestop specifically had made.

Now that I know it's Microsoft-made, I begin to wonder if MS's not waiting for PAX to announce something Windows related to PC gaming. Right after E3 when questioned, Phil Spencer did say that MS as a whole had been focused entirely on Xbox (big surprise) at E3 because specifically E3 was a console-focused venue and that PC gaming would be something announced more around "competitive gaming" scenes. I thought perhaps they meant Quakecon, but PAX or Blizzcon would work, right?

I've been burned so many times in the past it's like that ex-gf you really want to get her act together because you know, she COULD be hot in the saddle back in the day, but damn it she keeps wigging out on you and leaving you high and dry for years at a time with vague promises about "catching up" only to not only NOT give you any action, but she won't even show up to pay for the plate she ordered via phone before not showing up because that Console Kiddie was just too irresistible to her.

But I also know that if Microsoft would realize the money they're leaving on the table with regards to PC gaming--money that (nearly?) every publisher that works with them realizes is a LOT of money and are actively pursuing now in the most aggressive manner possible (day and date)--PC gaming would get a lot of great content that I'd love to play, but not love to play so much I'm going to buy a system that's otherwise useless to me.

Eh, either way they'll get around to it when they introduce Game streaming from servers and use Windows devices (including PC's) to expand that out to everything, but damn it, they need to stop ordering the damn plate or even promising to show up this time.
