NVIDIA GeForce 8600 series Available on Newegg

If you've been paying attention to techPowerUp! news for the past few days, you know that NVIDIA and its partners have recently released the GeForce 8600 series. I won't bore you with the details, as you've probably read them at least fifty times by now (though if you'd like a refresher, please click here). However, prospective customers of this new graphics card have asked themselves: Where can I get it? And as of today, the answer is one of the most loved computer part providers in the USA: Newegg. If you live in the USA, and want an 8600, you'll be very happy to know that they are quite available on Newegg. The 8600GT series starts at $170, and the 8600GTS series starts at $200.

hmmm...the xfx 8600gt is not so far away from the gts in terms of clocks (which is the only difference that i can see between the gt and gts)...

It has been said before, but $200 for a 128 bit card is to much money. I would have to say it would be better to spend the extra $50-$70 for a entry level 8800 series card. Who knows, they may actually perform well. We will have to wait and see.

I still will be holding out untill we see what the R600 has to offer, before I buy my first DX10 card.

If you look around there is already reviews out for these cards. The 8600GTS performs slightly below a 7900gs and/or a x1950pro. Your pretty much just paying for the dx10 from what i can tell.

the new egg pricing on the gt is kinda gay , for like 20 dollars more u can get a gts.

well the only difference that i can see between the GT and GTS is just clock speeds....around 100-150 mhz difference.

and the XFX is only 50 mhz difference, and cost the least.

some listing i have seen lists the 8600gts gpu as a G84-400 while refering to the GT gpu as the G84-300 so there may be some specific gpu core diffrences.

128 - bit ,wud it kill nvidia to make these 256-bit atleast for the love of god , cause i am not paying 170 dollars for 128-bit , now if that was 120 dollars that be fine and where its 200 if it was 150 then yeah maybe. i have always been an ati fan , although i jumped the gun and bought nvidia basically due to i got mine for 350 dollars (special offer through pny) ........... tahts about it and for 350 bucks the 8800 gts 640mb does the job more than well.
