Razer, a world leader in connected devices and software for gamers, today announced the launch of the Razer DeathAdder Chroma gaming mouse. The Razer DeathAdder Chroma features the renowned ergonomic design of its precursor. It is equipped with a 10,000 DPI optical sensor that is able to track lift-off distance as precise as 1 mm on most surfaces, including glass table tops. The upgraded sensor is capable of mouse movement speeds up to 200 inches per second with 50 G acceleration, ensuring exacting accuracy and organic fluidity onscreen.

Together with Razer Synapse: Stats & Heatmaps, the Razer DeathAdder Chroma provides gamers precise details such as game time, button presses, distance moved and even how much overall pressure was exerted while gaming. This incredible amount of technical tracking data coupled with the upgraded ultra accurate sensor allows gamers to tweak the Razer DeathAdder Chroma to their individual play style and further increase their accuracy more than with any other mouse on the planet.

"The Razer DeathAdder Chroma is the world's best gaming mouse favored by eSports athletes everywhere," says Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO. "Our Synapse software continues to add value to our hardware products, and this is the latest example of that. Validated by professional eSports athletes, the iconic ergonomic design and the ability for gamers to hone their accuracy make the Razer DeathAdder Chroma the perfect mouse for any play style."

The DeathAdder Chroma joins the BlackWidow Chroma and Kraken 7.1 Chroma that come with the option of 16.8 million customizable colors and a range of effects through Razer's cloud-based hardware configurator Razer Synapse. Chroma allows the device to sync lighting colors and patterns and comes with an open SDK that enables game developers to integrate advanced lighting effects based on in-game events such as a base being under attack and much more.

  • Ergonomic right-handed design with textured rubber side grips
  • 10,000 DPI optical sensor
  • Chroma lighting with 16.8 million customizable color options
  • Razer Synapse enabled

Too bad the quality of their products isn't very good. I've owned two mice from them, and both have suffered from the same malady. Multiple button clicks from one mouse button depress. I shrugged off the first one from just being an older mouse, but the second one happened after 3 months of light to moderate gaming use.

I love their design, and comfort, but I don't like their quality.

All my deathadders eventually double clicked upon doing a single click. My 2014 is getting to the point of doing it now.

Well I haven't had problems with my snakey too...

But there are gamer breed people from WOW/Diablo etc games, that has a habit clicking the damn mouse like gazillion times when cruising the mouse through screen, no matter where... imagine it is like Alzheimer's disease...

and well... okay the switch is broken... order some omron switch on farnel or digikey and you are ready to go further... where's the problem, everyone fixes their own cars too?

SC2 "Pro players" that APM spam just to APM spam. Or people like my friend who gets so angry he punched a dent into his table and kicked a radiator so hard that it broke the metal input pipe.

I've owned three MS mice that never did that, and one Logitech mouse. The 2nd MS mouse had to deal with D2 and the expansion, but never had any issues. Only mice I've ever had this happen to have been Razer mice. This suggests that the problem aren't my *clicking* habits, but the quality of their mice.

I unfortunately have to second Swordkd's statement. I owned both a Lachesis and a Deathadder and both were pretty much unusable by 3-4 months of daily use. And I treat my hardware with care. I have 2 M$ compact optical mice 500's that have never exhibited this problem. And the one my dad uses goes through a lot of abuse!

For those whining about double click, it's not razer's exclusive problem. It happens in every mouse as long as manufacturers don't use more durable microswitches. Many of those 'gaming mouse' even use the same not-very-durable type of microswitches from omron. Afaik only in few cases double click is caused by other problems.

For those never had problem with their mouse, consider yourself lucky or you have different batch with different components within it.

I know first hand it's also problem in Logitech, Steelseries, CM, Mionix and Roccat. Basically every brand.

3 years of use of a Naga Epic 0 issues until I open mumble because for whatever reason mumble conflicts with razer's drivers. But turning mumble of and on again usually fixes this.

I've had the 2011 Naga for nearly 2 and a half years of near constant use and it's the best mouse i've ever brought, i will +1 for razer's drivers being really bad though, had more than my fair share of problems with those...

Well there is one more possibility... elephant fingers... :D

The same was with old button type mobile phones(like nokia 6310), there were people(I called them also pianists) that could crack the soldering underneath the CPU(it was on the opposite side of the keyboard , as they pressed the buttons so badly with force, the PCB bends and thus cold joints appear... few harsh clicks and same can be caused to the mouse...

It is a mouse not a rocket science, their problems are mere childish electromechanical issues, that all mice might suffer, maker does not matter, just coincidence, bad item batch, lunar phase and etc... bashing just razer is not serious... it is a good mouse for the given price.

I have heard so many times lately that Razers and Logitechs develop double-click issues. I tend to believe these claims if they come from enough TPU members.
I had same issues with Logitechs from last two years.
I have single Razer Salmosa from the early days when Razer was new to market - it's rock solid.
I have no doubt that their later products are 'quality optimized' in a negative way for us, and positive way for them.

I can confirm the issue with the Razer mice double click, I had an Imperator for a very long time. I loved the shape and materials, it was the most comfortable mouse I have ever used. After some time the left mouse button started double clicking at random, then after a while on almost every press. I opened the mouse and when I looked at the buttons I couldn't believe what type of flimsy plastic piece Razer used to connect the outer button with the switch. It is made of transparent plastic for some unknown reason and is very thin and flimsy. After playing around with it I found out it was half broken, it would stay in one piece but when pressed one wall was giving in, it was broken at a joint. So I used nail polish to glue it back together, a really thick layer of it (It was like 3AM when I opened the mouse in anger lol and I had no superglue or anything else at the time) I left it to dry until next day. It worked perfect from then on. For like 6 more months that is, then the sensor died. When that happened I swore to never buy another Razer product again. I still can't believe that a monkey like the one who designed that plastic piece is allowed to come anywhere near a computer, let alone design internal parts for a computer peripheral. Still if you guys are having issues with double click you should open the mouse and look at that connector between the switch and button itself, maybe you can glue it back together if it's broken...

I have a couple of old deathadders I could probably open up and take a look at before I open up my 2013 version.
