DisplayLink, the leading provider of USB graphics technology and Plugable Technologies, a leading provider of USB, Bluetooth, and charging devices today announced availability of a USB 3.0 to DisplayPort 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition) Video Graphics adapter using DisplayLink's latest DL-5500 Chipset.
"We've been experiencing considerable interest from users and IT managers since announcing the DL-5000 series chipsets, so it's exciting to see Plugable's solution now available for both North America and European markets," said John Cummins, Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing at DisplayLink. "The ability to connect the latest 4K UHD displays to non-4K capable notebooks or computing platforms enables a rapid transition to high resolution monitors. Connecting your new 4K monitor over USB couldn't be easier."
"Choosing DisplayLink's DL-5000 series chips for our new 4K USB Video Adapters was an easy decision. DisplayLink has the first 4K over USB 3.0 solution on the market combined with their deep experience delivering enterprise-grade quality and performance," said Bernie Thompson, Plugable Technologies Founder. "A rapid drop in 4K monitor prices is driving interest and adoption and Plugable sees the opportunity to help users in finance, trading, programming, and content creation easily make the move to 4K."
The new USB 3.0 to DisplayPort 4K UHD Video Adapters from Plugable combines video and audio over a single USB 3.0 cable to a Windows 7 or Windows 8 host. The adapters can be used as stand-alone or in combination with existing DisplayLink-enabled docking stations to add additional monitors.
DisplayLink's solutions are deployed to millions of customers and Fortune companies globally, now in the fifth generation of products spanning both USB 2.0 and 3.0. The latest 4K UHD (Ultra High Definition) chipsets will also be demonstrated for finance users and IT managers this week at Interop New York at the Javits Center, Manhattan.
The Plugable Technologies, latest USB 3.0 to DisplayPort 4K UHD Video Adapters support multiple monitors up to 3840x2160 resolution over Windows 8.1, 8 and 7 and are available now online priced at approximately $69 USD.
