NVIDIA Announces 'Pick Your Path' Game Bundle

NVIDIA announced the "Pick Your Path" game bundle for new customers of select high-end GeForce GTX graphics cards, in partnership with Ubisoft. Applicable to new buyers of GeForce GTX 980, GTX 970, GTX 780 Ti, and GTX 780, the bundle lets you pick one of three latest Ubisoft titles, including FarCry 4, Assassin's Creed: Unity, and The Crew. Several NVIDIA AIC partners are participating in the giveaway, which works much like AMD's "Never Settle." The retailer gives you a code in the invoice of your new graphics card purchase, which you exchange for a UPlay key of the game of your choice, online.

I was a day one owner of a GTX780, no regrets!

But most of the bugs were sorted with the 6 series so I guess thats why.

Same with games really and all that DLC bs later, bought Skyrim pretty much on launch, then came DLC which I waited for to come down in price, then came the legendary edition which has the base game and the DLC and now on steam that version is waaaay cheaper then just getting the DLC.

Basically to get the better end of the deal I would have to purchase Skyrim again.

Pretty much the reason why I refrain from buying anything now until a version of a game is out that has all teh DLC included

Well, at least it means I don't have to waste my money on Ubisoft's intentionally gimped, 30 fps locked consolitis products. That's a good point in my book.
Here's hoping the 980 Ti/990/whatever Maxwell in 2015 will come bundled with Witcher 3.

On the Nvidia website it said only 980 and 970. So are the 780 and 780 Ti included? A 980 is overkill for me and all the current 970 honestly look like crap or don't match my future build/renovation.

These bundles never bothered me as an early adopter, because generally the games you get are average, or go on sale and lose their worth anyway.

Steam key is still better, since you can download the game from Steam server, which is way faster than Uplay's. Also, you can buy further DLCs at lower price during Steam Sale. Uplay hardly dump their price regardless of the occasion.

Well yeah obviously this is for people who want to play them now.
Im not to bothered with getting new games myself as I still have a huge library to get through anyway but plenty of people buy their games as soon as they are out.
For them this might be a nice addition if they were in the market for a new videocard atm anyway

I think you'd be right, except one of the games is Far Cry 4, which is not expected to suck at all. Hell, it's Ubi, and I'm still looking forward to it, since my last two plays of theirs were well done and fun (Splinter Cell: Blacklist and FC3)!

Thanks for both those tidbits. The first made my ears perk up, and consider writing newegg an e-mail. Then you had to rain down the truth bullets and bring me back to not giving a fug.

Uplay is a complete piece of garbage (or was the few times I encountered it through old AC/PoP titles), and it has been a key factor with actively generally avoiding their games on (especially on PC). You couple that with their new-found love of lazy ports and weird nvidia/gameworks bullshit, even now, as a dude with a nvidia card, I can't bring myself to go out of my way to support them (and certainly Uplay)...not even for free.

It's nice to see the early-adopter/shortage period is over though, it brings the future (8GB cards in quantity across skus, big maxwell/Fiji) that much closer, and I think we all agree that's a place we'd like to be sooner than later, especially considering said console ports/proliferation of higher rez displays.

I haven't found U-Play to be all that bad here lately. It's worked smoothly, including gameplay. I like that accomplishing certain things in-game earns points, which you can use to unlock extra weapons or outfits, and even some small DLC. If it was Origin, you'd be paying for every one of those things with money (Just look at all the small purchases necessary on ME2 and ME3 for extra weapons or skins).

Looking at Egg today it appears they have sold down a good amount of the 780's inventory's, it looks like such pricing is actually rebounded and the few sku's are mostly top shelf. Egg has (5) 970's listed in stock, some actually (3) aren't just lackluster PNY or Zotacs'.

Might see that this promotion as coinciding/commencing letting the reins of the 970 go, and have it really "rain" 970’s, since the 780's have cleared out. Nvidia is now hoping to entice fans onto this before any real information on the 960 comes on scene. I think Nvidia see's there are plenty of "marks" using and maintaining with 1080p that imagine this is the upgrade path they want, and now Nvidia wants to give it to them.

Nvidia gets the game keys for much cheaper then 70usd, they maybe pay about 30-35usd per key.

The game runs at 30fps on console's, desktop it will run least 60fps as that 970 is a good 2x-3x more powerful then the gpu in the console. If what ubisoft said was right and cpu was limiting factor, I said IF. You can compare the 7790 which is pretty much what is in the console vs gtx970, 970 beats it by almost 3x the fps. Its a low midrange gpu vs low high range.

Speak for yourself. I was a very happy camper when I bought my reference 6870 the day it was released. My issues in general have been few and far in between even when I first got it. Maybe I got lucky.
